I’d love to see the Teck Crescent tiara, and matching hoop necklace out of the jewelry vaults. Maybe David Snowden can loan it to Lady Chatto. She’s fabulous. And all of the brooch pearl pieces are just splendid. I had forgotten that the then Duchess of Cambridge, wore the Duchess of Cambridge pearl brooch in that first official portrait. And I love that green Vampires Wife dress she wore. Classy. And the late Duke of York, King Charles lll, was pretty darn handsome.

LOl It does appear this way BUT shopkeepers in Towns like Harrogate in the North of England,,,not too far from where her Only Daughter The Princes Royal Lived... Still talk about how Discerning her "eye" was...for something special and Queen Mary only wanted something special !! To be fair also...knowing she was in the town "shopping" ... Shop Keepers would send messages to other Shopkeepers ahead of her Visits, Beware !!!

With the possible exception of Queen Alexandra's kokoshnik, Queen Camilla's light hair does not show off all-diamond tiaras particularly well, as would also be the case with the Teck Crescents Tiara. This would however look spectacular on the dark hair of the Princess of Wales - as we have recently seen wearing the equally unseen-for-decades Strathmore Rose Tiara - hence the Princess of Wales wearing the Teck Crescents tiara is my choice.

Queen Mary and King George were NOT crowned in India in 1911. They held a Durbar. No coronation took place.

It is highly unlikely that the dutchess of Gloucester will leave the Tiara to the crown as she will most likely leave it to her children.

I wonder why brooches were so popular? While most are beautiful, they seem to be a bit of a redundant piece of jewelry.

She supposedly had STICKY fingers Queen Mary of Tech
@Maggie220022 ай бұрын
In another documentary, they said that if Queen Mary saw something that someone else had & she liked it, she expected to be given that as a gift. She collected a lot of the material possessions for the RF at the time. Queen Mary is also the one who cataloged all the Royal Jewels, as nobody else had done that. She came from the a more poor family, so maybe that had something to do with her collecting things.
@hotoneinspai2 ай бұрын
who is Queen Mary of Tech ?.... Sorry to be tetchy ...BUT... I think you mean... HRH Queen Mary... Mary was married to a King of England So simply put... Queen Mary of Great Britain. Prior to her Marriage.... Mary was styled Princess Mary of Teck. And NO The Queen definitely didn't have "sticky fingers"...What used to happen ... In Great Britain ( back in the day) in Order to gain a Royal Warrant...for your Business you had to Supply Goods...for one or more Members of the Royal Family. This was a highly prestigious "Award" and securing you a lot of Customers. Queen Mary would "favour certain shops" and then they could apply for a Royal Warrant.. and in Exchange... Mary wasn't sent any Bills for the Items they supplied her !!...She loved Antique shops !!! To be fair, The Royal Family were aware of all this... and after Queen Mary died...as she kept immaculate records and details of every item... King George her son and his wife Queen Elizabeth were able to return almost everything to the Owners of the shops...Alas; a few had Gone Bankrupt in the process !! BUT It wasn't only retail shops... When Queen Mary went to "Stay with Friends" which she did a great deal...IF The Queen admired an item...the Hosts felt Obliged to say..."Please Your Majesty...We'd love you to have that!!" It could be a small piece of china or a solid silver Vase or Large Plate. Again; After her Death... The Royal Family went to great Lengths to make contact and offered to return these Items... Indeed hearing this...after her Passing...a few "Hosts"...Who were not contacted.... Actually asked for their Items back !! The Process for Royal Warrants is still a Much Converted Addition to anyone's Business BUT much stricter rules apply these days.... and The Royal Family have Very Strict Rules regarding "Paying for Every small thing"

How about rings 💍?

well so often Symbolism was more important back then!!! ...Big Stones were unheard of for Royal Brides...Queen Victoria's engagement ring was in the shape of a snake with tiny jewels inc a tiny emerald and two tiny rubies for eyes... Google it!

Its sad I dont see Catherine wearing any of these beautiful jewels even when she is Queen I dont think she will wear any of them & look like a Queen as she should.
@MichaelJohnson-vi6eh2 ай бұрын
I also get the impression that she may be conservative in her choice of accoutrement. The queen may feel more comfortable. European royals are more toned down these days.

Did the Dutches of Teck actually leave her daughter any jewels, seems she left a lot to her sons
@mummylove52 ай бұрын
By the time her mother died, Mary was already married to the Duke of York and had access to the royal collection, I wonder if her mothers collection was part of the estate which always passes to the eldest son ? I'm glad Queen Mary bought them back and that they now form part of the royal collection, I would love to see the Cambridge Emeralds sparkle again.

I would love to see any piece shown on any royal, except Queen Consort Camilla! She has to earn the right to wear any of Elizabeth the Second’s jewels. With a single exception…the diamond and pearl drop brooch left to the mistress, who returned it upon her death. Seems appropriate!
@Maggie220022 ай бұрын
Camilla doesn’t need to “ earn” the right to wear anything. She’s Queen & the jewels are passed to the next person in line to wear. Case closed. Nobody has to like

Camilla has more class than many. She is out in the communities daily doing incredible service to help women who have had unthinkable things done to them by other adults. Mostly men. She doesn't need to earn anything. She already has it. Clearly you do not.
