Jon!! I say this with every bit of sincerity that I can squeeze out of a KZbin comment's text-only delivery format: That means SO much for me to read and is all I (or Reason Studios) could hope to hear. The work I do in making these videos ends up inspiring myself to make music, and my main goal is to make that inspirational feeling contagious in the video itself. So thanks for sharing that with me. It makes the effort feel worthwhile.

Excellent pedagogical approach! Also, not typically a fan of the generally slick type of pop track he was creating, but have to admit it was a banger when he was done. Loved all the subtle little techniques and additional skills/tools he touched on as he rounded out the track, all building off of the themes he elaborated on earlier. Wonderful!

Avoid the waffle and read the last paragraph. I'm loving learning about how to use Chord Sequencer and Reason 12 in the ways that the programmers and designers intended and the ways that my mind creates tangents as I experiment with Reason in general. I think that it's clear that Reason Studios is focusing on the Rack more than it is on the sequencer and - after having watched most of this vid - I've just realised that I'm actually okay with that. The Rack is significantly unique to Reason and that fact should be built upon so that Reason can be the ultimate plugin rather than a lacklustre attempt at the perfect DAW that it used to try to be. After having recently bought Live 11 and FL 20, my opinion has definitely become somewhat swayed because I feel like the combination of their attributes and Reason's Rack plugin's awesomeness is already within my grasp. I had to rewind and pause many times. I'm going to have to slow the vid right down now so that I can follow the steps. At 17:16, I recommend doing the same. Start at 13:52 for context.

Hey Ryan, pure gold as always with your videos. Very informative - I always look forward to your content. I have leaned more about chord sequencer in this video than I had on my own - next question is how you found a great ‘song vocal’ on splice so quickly - I spend ages looking for something other than small phrases ;) Thank You
@RyanHarlin2 жыл бұрын
Well Tim, I wish I had great advice on the splice search. It can be tricky. One thing I use that helps me narrow it down is the key signature filters you see me using in the video. Then after that some of my scanning happens visually by just looking on screen for long waveforms that would indicate more material to work with. I've also tried stuff like search terms that include "verse" or "hook".
