I just had my baby girl at home 🏠 which was my first planned homebirth, but accidentally unassisted haha! It was the best birth experience i could have ever prayed for!!!! I was inspired to look into homebirth after listening to your and your sisters home birth stories (all of them) and i cant believe i did it and how perfectly it went. I was keen on the Bradley method, i took all your advice, although She came in 1 hour (my 4th) and my husband caught her! I had no time to relax haha but i didnt panic and it was my easiest birth. It was one of the best days of my life and i just wanted to thank you for sharing your stories! I pray your bub comes in perfect timing in the way you pray for and is perfectly healthy! I wish that back in the day we would have been advised to hang out in bed for 2 weeks after delivery. The dr always just said activity as tolerared so I just resumed normal life of caring for my 4 within a day or two after birth (I felt really good) Now in my 60's I think my pelvic floor would have been benefited from better after birth care. All this to say I am glad you and other young moms are reinforcing the importance of this rest. I think freshening up the bedroom is a great idea to so your not lying there making a stressful mental list of what needs doing. Do you need to wash those baby clothes before he gets here? I guess I was extra about that and maybe its unecessary? Hope everything goes well for his safe arrival its a very exciting time !🥰

I also enjoyed my pregnancies! I was fortunate that I never suffered from much morning sickness. I looked at pregnancy as being somewhat romantic. When I couldn’t sleep I would get up and listen to my favorite singer, Paul Anka. He sang my favorite song “Having my baby.” I would listen to that song over and over again! I nursed mine and they wore cloth diapers, it's so hot in the south( Mississippi) that I never needed to even buy clothes till October or November...Good luck!!

I'm a few months away from my 2nd boy and I can't wait to see what he looks like! We're mixed-race and our first has my husband's exact face, but looks very white, just with a nice tan during summer. He has my hair texture, too, just slightly curlier if we let it grow a couple inches. I have no idea if his brother is going to have a similar complexion or if he'll have his father's Ethiopian complexion. It's so exciting to wait and see what he will look like! His ultrasound photo has the exact same profile as our first, so I won't be surprised if he looks a lot like him and my husband when it comes to bone structure. I'm sure God has a great mix in mind for your new little one!

Thank you for the videos. I noticed that at the beginning of the video, when you were sorting little clothes and blankets into the baskets, that you took a little blanket out of the original package and put it away for use. Sometimes those have chemicals on or in them that give off an odor, or could irritate skin. They are sooo little and easy to wash, you might consider washing before use.

I came across a bill for $12.00 for my grandmother when she had my dad in 1932. It included 10 days of care for her and the baby at a birthing home.

@@tml3982 Yes, my mom had c sections in the early 1960's and was kept in the hospital for 10 days as was the standard back then. We didn't have family help so additionally a baby nurse was hired which I think was common because the husband returned to work. idk why things seemed to change in the 80's and 90's when we just kind of hit the ground running right after birth?
