Wonderful discussion. Thanks as always. Bravo, Dr Jen Howk, on your years of sobriety, and on all your work and contributions. Such profound and helpful insights--where in our lives are we lying by omission / leaving things unexpressed. Yay, citing some of the great treasures out there--Tara Brach, Gabor Maté. Such wisdom. Every time I take in a video by Tara Brach, I feel held / hugged. Dr Maté is truly a gift to the world. Bless you, Chef AJ, and Charles. I'm sure he's going through his own unique phases and doing what he needs to do in each moment. Thank you.

To you two beautiful ladies I say, your conversation today struck a resonant chord with me. I “suffered” a huge trauma seven years ago when my husband of fifty one years walked out and took up with another woman. I had the greatest fortune to be invited by one of my younger sisters ( I have 5) to her farm, where she helped me hugely in such a beautiful, totally unjudgemental way with my mind -- how to change it about many many things. Her own traumatic experience in a relationship had helped her to see (of her own accord) how to do this for herself. I will be forever grateful to her. I now know how to “be honest” and have told many many people about my experience in order to help them to see how freeing it is to be totally honest with yourself abd everyone else!! Whoever said “Honesty is the Best Policy” definitely knew what they were talking about!! Thank you so much Jen and Chef AJ for your video. I loved it!! Kathy Boucher. Western Australia.

Good on you for sharing your diagnoses with us, AJ. I am glad you are feeling good about it. I too have said a prayer for your healing. The book by Maté is fantastic: When the Body Says No. I have participated with him in a workshop in Canada where he helped me, and others, work through some of our issues. He was great.

Chef AJ, I'm so grateful you are doing this month, and that you came out publicly when you did. I got a breast cancer diagnosis on October 25th, and I am watching every single day avidly. I've watched you for years, and have followed a plant-based diet for nearly ten years. I wasn't expecting a cancer diagnosis. So, I am incredibly grateful that I can benefit from the conversations you're having, and the journey you're going through. I'm listening and acting. Please know that your message is getting across - because I look up the book, or the person, or talk to my therapist, because of the things you are discussing every day. Thank you, thank you, thank you for what you do.
