What I dont understand is, how Shi'ism is considered as a mazhab/school of thought in ISLAM, while its Doctrine/Aqida is totally differ in many factors to the Doctrine of Ahlul Sunnah Wal Jamaah ?

I'm also from a half-Shia family but grew up into Sunni islam. I don't think the theological issues are the sticking point. But the political aspects are extremely acrimonious. Many Shias see themselves as distinct from the Ummah and labels us as oppressors. They have developed their political alliances in direct opposition to Sunnis, which inevitably lead to clashes. Much of this is due to Khomeimi.
