5 years in my journey. From a child, my hair was being permed, hot comb etc. After being enlightened that it was damaging to the hair, to the point, it won't Grow anymore . That it wasn't healthy, I decided to loc it. I wanted my God given hair back. One of the best decisions, I ever made. I appreciate your videos keep up the good work Queen and Queens👑. Blessings.

I started my locs because I was tired of wigs, braids, etc. I had never worn my natural hair out. I just really needed the freedom. I knew it would come with outside opinions but I knew it was something I had to do for myself. I’ll be two years in April best decision I’ve ever made.

I’m 15 months locd. This is my longest loc journey. I’ve done this 8 times and each time I took them down out of insecurity. But today as my dad told me again how much he didn’t like my locs, I felt nothing but profound love for not only my hair but for me. No one can make me dislike myself anymore. Enough is enough and I am enough. I and my locs are beautiful. These locs of mine are gorgeous and I hope to have them with me until my passing day

Congratulations on 9 year 🎉! #LocGang I started my locs 3.5 years ago for 2 reasons 1) After a freak accident I broke my ankle on the Great Wall of China 🇨🇳 (I know random lol) and had to have surgery, learn to walk again, etc. So after that I said “life is too short I’m loc’ing my hair” 2) I was starting my PhD so I wanted my hair to reflect my new academic journey as well.

I grew up with locs basically. But in fourth grade, I was so hung up on the beauty standard(I literally said to my stepmother who was doing my hair, that I wanted straight hair as long as Rapunzel's. Because straight hair is prettier.) and pleasing girls that were bullying me at the time that I took down my locs causing me to have short hair. And after a long time like 5-9 months later when I moved, regret started to overwhelm me and I had practically begged to have my hair back in locs because I really did miss having locs(also curly hair is a freaking pain to maintain and I was tender-headed) and my stepmother didn't want to put back in locs because it took so long to take down. Eventually, my stepmother caved in and helped put my hair back in locs. Never went back to natural sense. I still have regrets because my hair now isn't as long as it used to be(it was down to my thighs and now it's down to the middle of my back) but I am just happier in my hair now and my seventh loc anniversary is soon. So if you like your hair now don't change for NOBODY or ANY BEAUTY STANDARD. ALL HAIR IS BEAUTIFUL!

Feb 3rd would have been my 9th year! I cut my old set off last April because I felt they weren’t healthy! I started hating them. But I could never see myself having loose hair ever again! I rocked a TWA all summer last year and got my baby locs last October. I’m going to try and take better care of this new set. I will be 4 months in at the end of this month :)

Gonna be on my fifth year next month and I've been so frustrated and self-conscious of my hair lately, but this really made me feel a lot better about my journey. I also have kinky tight curled hair and some days I'm embarrassed that my hair doesn't look like I have a fresh twist because of new growth and my length not being where I want it. I remembered that I started this journey for ME and wanted to love and accept myself naturally. Thank you for this

I enjoyed this video. You’ve got to know yourself and be comfortable in your own skin to get locs because sadly too many have too much to say when you get started on the journey. So many of my people tried to discourage me and I wasn’t even asking for their opinion 🤷🏾‍♀️ I had vision and I knew why I was doing it, they didn’t share that and it’s okay. But people who get locs, in my opinion, are normally strong individuals who know themselves and don’t need the approval of others. Thank you for this video ❤️✊🏿
