Thank you for recognizing your baby sister for helping. I wish I have sister that appreciated me. I stayed with my sister helping her with her kids when I finished school. I could have stayed back when I finished my service to look for job but she forced me to come back because at time she didn’t have help. I came back to help her babysit her triplets. It was hell for me because at that point,I lost my self. I was literally living for them. I had no time for myself and I was almost 29. My sister never cared about me that I needed time for myself to make friends or hang out as I was already getting old. All she was interested in was her kids and would criticize me whenever I didn’t do things well. It was so bad that her criticism was affecting me emotionally. All I needed was to leave her house. I took care of those kids as mine and I was happy doing it. The pain I am feeling is that she never appreciated everything and all the sacrifices that I made. I denied myself a lot of things just to take care of her kids.

@O.Okeke some sisters are all about themselves. You now need to focus on your life and what you want out of it. It is only Nigerian women who harp on about age to marry. Why? Other African women don’t. I stand to be corrected. You never mentioned what skills/education you want to acquire in your life. Leave your sister to God. You have your whole life ahead of you. It is not marrying early but marrying the right person as a husband. You should seek counselling as your self esteem has been brought down to zero. Try and read self help books and try and listen to positive affirmations every day. Stay away from negative people and no that no condition is permanent. Try and get hold of Desiderata by Max Erhman. A poem that is full of positive affirmations. I wish you all the best going forward in life.
