Ruth E. Heidrich, Ph.D.,Â
www.RuthHeidrich.com
Featured in that great documentary, Forks Over Knives, Dr. Ruth Heidrich is known for being a marathon runner who was shocked when diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. After answering an ad in the paper looking for breast cancer patients to participate in a diet/cancer research study, she met Dr. John McDougall and immediately enrolled in the study which required changing to the McDougall diet. She also could not have either chemotherapy or radiation so that diet was the only variable. She went on to complete the Kona Ironman Triathlon just two years later, with cancer in complete remission and became the very first vegan and first cancer patient to ever complete an Ironman.
She went on to compete in world-wide races, winning almost 1,000 trophies including 8 gold metals in the Senior Olympics, 67 marathons including Boston, New York, and Moscow. Invited to come the the world-famous Cooper Clinic in Dallas, TX, she set 3 age-group world fitness records, one of which was breaking her own record, and has been named "One of the Ten Fittest Women in North America." Although never intending to be an author, she was asked to write books including A Race For Life, SeniorFitness, and Lifelong Running. Known as the "other Dr. Ruth", she has also written How to Prevent, Reverse, and Cure ED, has a recipe book, CHEF, and is working on two books, one on silicone breast implants and the other, Running 'Round the World.

I think it’s beyond cool that we’re all clicked in like this. This woman is talking about the sweet potatoes. I literally just had a 1 pound purple sweet potato with a half pound Japanese purple sweet potato, with the white skin about an hour ago. That Japanese potato that’s purple on the inside and white on the outside, it taste like a blueberry doughnut wrapped up in a biscuit to me. God was too good to us 😇

Ruth is wonderful and I can relate to her story about working out in the hospital. I'm 6.5 weeks into a badly broken foot and chipped ankle and I'm desperately trying to save what muscle I can in my right leg. My calf is a lost cause, but I'm using 10 lbs. of ankle weights to do leg exercises daily. Hobbling around on crutches is my upper body workout.

so inspiring.i had thyroidcancer and i have no thyroid now.i wanted to try to cure it by the holistic natural way.but was so persuad by the doctor to operate away my thyroid.and now so much is trubble.and i regret that i was so abused by my exhusband when we were married and bullied by him that i had so small breasts.so i got implant that i still have.i do not want them.and they irritate my body.i was so young when i married him.a violant man.otherwise i should have said today get a bigger brain to him and stayed content with my small breats.health is most important .and i have read that implants in the breast can give breastcancer, but now i the pandemic so i have to wait.

I was a runner for 40 years until a left total knee replacement (osteoarthritis) in 2019. Not too much running anymore...However, now that I'm plant-based perhaps I may be able to return to it? Diet and inflammation. I miss it so much.

Get a rebounder and run on that. I do it for 30 mins a day and it's excellent. Cleans the lymphatic system and no impact on joints. Consider it. Be well🙏

My neighbor is a breast cancer survivor and an implant got horribly infected. She got the evil thing removed and is about to go to Sloan Kettering in NYC (from Santa Fe) to get a much better cutting edge technique done... reconstruction using fat from her thighs.

She looks great but salt is important. A good salt like Celtic salt. It’s a mineral and is needed by the body . Also a little bit of fat is good for the brain.
