The biggest detriment to aesthetically pleasing actresses is that they're aesthetically pleasing, unfortunately. "Oh I know you can act, but just, instead, try shaking your ass or looking cute, please" is basically the investor expectations on films. Kind of gross. Do I think she's capable of oscar material? I don't know. But I do know she's probably been miscast more than any other actress I can think of.

"Those lips, those eyes..." I was smitten by her beauty in Dark Angel and soon was impressed with her acting talent. It's a shame she got typecast because of her beauty. She's so much more than that. The trouble with Hollywood in the way they treat *actresses* is that there are so few roles for them as they get into middle age. For men it's more action-adventure, or command/authority figures. No so with many actresses, unless the roles they started out with emphasized their acting talent rather than their beauty. I just wish Hollywood would give Jessica a break like that.

She needed roles where her characters were interesting enough to outshine her physical beauty. Every time I saw her in a role, all I could think of was how gorgeous she was, and I was frustrated that she wasn't in my arms. I mostly ignored her characters. She needed the right role, with the right make-up, to let her acting be the one that makes the character shine, instead of having her beauty outshine the character. Sadly, the closest she came to this was in Dark Angel, and it was (mostly) downhill from there...

When pretty women refuse to strip in hollywood, I don't think that's all they refuse. Hence they rarely have much of a career. Still the right call, If you ask me. If there weren't so many women eager to ... go the extra mile ... it wouldn't be needed in Hollywood.

Ms. Alba is awesome. But you can see the industry, run by deceptive alien overlords, found that her depictions hit a little too close to home for their comfort. They wanted a ‘group’ or family or tribe orientation to their stories instead of a super femme hero. Not that the family idea is bad, necessarily, but a more traditional form was sought after. She now runs a large company which caters to family values. Again, not wrong, but it is always better to know the full truth and understand what to do in our present reality.
