My son is a high school teacher and I was astonished to find out just how little teachers are paid. On top of his low pay he often has to purchase supplies out of his own pocket to be able to have the minimum he needs in order to be able to teach his classes. He also has to be at school at least 30 minutes before class begins and rarely gets to leave for 2-3 hours after school is over. Then he often (virtually every day) has to spend time at home doing work, such as grading and his planning. We sat down and figured it out, with everything he has to do (forget the out of pocket money he spends) and the hours he basically donates, he makes about $12/hour. He actually makes more money on his part-time job as a bartender annually than as a teacher. In my opinion that’s shameful.

A family and kids yes you'll need 2 incomes, I'm 25 a new grad in tx and at about 40 hr but I also have my partners income, still alone I could take care of myself. To live comfortably in St. Louis, Missouri, a minimum annual salary of $56,000 is needed. Homes cost around $155,000 in that area. It is cheap to live in Missouri. If she and her husband combined their salaries they would make about 100k and live an extremely comfortable life in St louis. This woman is not appearing to tell the truth.

Im retiring after being in education for 37 years. I was a teacher, a counselor and a principal. I left administration this year to go back to the classroom because I could not stand the bullshit anymore. The bullshit is so deep, and wide it would take a novel to describe. I went back to teaching because I thought I could block it out. WRONG !!! I watch these poor classroom teachers dealing with all the same shit I tried to help stop.... but I could not stand seeing it everyday. The desperation these teachers face. The misappropriation of funds, the ridiculous class size.... And so on... Education is broken at the higest levels. It starts with the Federal Government down to the local school boards. It is sad. Teacher here, be enraged that we can’t make a living and we pay HUNDREDS out of pocket for children to have the basics. The teacher shortage is REAL, Las Vegas alone needs to fill 1400 positions by this upcoming school year and the starting salary is 54k, they consider that “competitive pay”. That’s not a joke either. We are leaving this profession QUICKLY. The education system is failing us teachers and children. Something has got to change fast.

The cost of living in Las Vegas is 51k a year though. The average median household makes 58k on Las Vegas. So if you are struggling to make it on 54k in a city where the total cost of living is 51k then you are living way beyond your means and financially irresponsible. In addition 54k is just the starting salary most vegas teachers retire at 80k or so with a pension. It's super easy to do the research and find the cost of living in these places and see that people are exaggerating their financial situation.

I had 3 younger cousins who had her as a teacher as well, long before all this went down, and they would talk about how awful their teacher was (mean to the female students, too nice to the male students 🤮) and the rumors (THIS could be small town rumors but not a good look considering she later stated shed sleep with students when theh turned 18) that she had slept with students. anytime she was brought up by anyone, it was always about how awful she is. Her husband is also a weirdo (he dated my s/o sister for awhile and i could go into detail but its not my buisness to share👍) I also actually had computer class and gym with her in school, but that was when we were kids and I'm not gonna fault someone for the way they acted as a teenager.

I had a conversation with a friend who is Christian and fairly conservative and she was seriously considering OF because she is financially struggling. She has a college degree, a clean record, and is still unable to find employment that pays a livable wage. I was a former career teacher ready to "save the world" back in the mid-seventies. My first teaching job was in a poor farming community in Michigan. Back then there were no problems with parents or classroom discipline-the salary was manageable at the time but...BUT I was shocked (due to my naivety) how illiterate and shallow the school board members were. In my 6th grade class my science text books were over 15 years old along with a minimum budget for class supplies ; however, there was no problem for the school board member to financially spend the school budget on a new football field or bleachers for the gym. (They were all old high school jocks btw that never left their community.) After I received my masters, I went overseas to teach at accredited international schools, (five all together during those forty years). The school board members were all well-educated (many fathers and mothers working for the UN, embassies, international companies), good salary and benefits, great parental support and disciplined students with a mix of nationalities. I always feel sad seeing how American teachers are not valued and how it is no longer a rewarding profession. No one can condemn this young lady for wanting to have a better life and I think some day she can go back to teaching.

Thing with this kind of stuff is that it doesn't really go away. So if 5-10 years later she has a kid and maybe they get lucky, none of their peers find out. They do and it basically turns into hell While I'm hardly the shrieking 'think of the children' type there are consequences to some things you do in life that tend to catch up with you eventually. Where I worry is that Teaching was a very honourable, trusted profession when we want the best to educate the next generation and all it takes is some financial pressure to make them leave.

Part of being a teacher is being a role model. Just like athletes and police officers, we hold teachers to a higher standard. When either do something not considered role model behavior they are repremanded. There are ethical standards that teachers are required to uphold. It sounds more like she's trying to justify her own unique situation instead of understanding how parents feel. The same way she feels when people stop her at wal mart with her children is similar to how these parents feel about a teacher doing only fans. Children go to school to learn , and are at an age where their hormones are going crazy. We want our children getting an education, not fantasizing about their teachers all day. You want to do only fans, that's great, but obviously how the kids made you feel was less important than the money you now make.

@@n9mone this isn't about teachers pay. I agree teachers should make more money, but 42 thousand a year is a decent wage that many people would be happy with in many parts of the united states. Especially in the South were the average income is like 24 grand a year in many areas. But you don't have to be teacher or anything you don't want to be. It's a choice. Just like being on only fans. I have nothing against anyone that chooses to do so. I just think it's inappropriate and irresponsible as an educator to try doing both.just as it's inappropriate to do so if you are a role model to young people in any capacity. Every teen boy that has an attractive teacher is going to look for an only fans. That's just how the world works these days. I think it's either extremely naive or disingenuous to claim you didn't think that students or other facility members wouldn't eventually find out.

Employers will %100 know. Only Fans takes taxes out of the income the person makes. Only Fans models/porn stars are independent contractors. Only Fans then reports them to the federal government (IRS, fed taxes) and the persons state department of revenue (state taxes) along with a person's real name, social, date of birth, address etc. Only Fans will NOT allow you to provide them a fake name or social etc for tax purposes. They pay taxes and arent trying to go to federal prison by lying about the independent contractors The only fake name you use is the handle on your Only Fans channel. But that isn't the name they report to the IRS. They use the models real name and social, birth date. When employers do background checks, they use your name, social, birth date and check with the IRS and state department of revenue to see where you worked before. There is literally no way to hide your previous jobs from a potential employer. It's for the employers safety as well as the safety of the other employees.

Something doesn’t add up, no way is a person who has a masters degree making only 42k a year. I am making that as a preschool teacher and I don’t have masters degrees in education. True teachers do not make a lot of money immediately after they graduate and get their first job., but within 2,3 years of graduating and gaining experience she should have made at least 55k a year. I am having a hard time believing she made that little with masters degree in education..!

She lives in southern Illinois, close to the St. Louis. Cost of living there is 56k. It's extremely cheap to live in that area. So her salary was in line with the cost of living and she had a husband who was also earning money. Where do you live? Teachers are based according to the city and state they live in. Teachers in NYC start off at around 70k but it's NYC and the cost of living there is twice that of Missouri.

If you don't want your kid's teacher to have to turn to OF, or spicy work, we can at least: (a) don't pay for spicy performers on that platform. They see you as nothing more than a pay piggy too - always know that, anybody paying/thinking of paying. (b) use part/all the money you would have spent to give to social causes, that help people with unemployment and homelessness risks. Otherwise, they'll be more coming to OF, just like this lady. (c) Lobby Congress to pay teachers a decent living wage.
