And now you gotta ask yourself why that is. People don't become addicts and criminals for no reason. The US systematically reproduces these social structures, because there are people who benefit from that. Prisoners are used as free labor and prison owners don't want there to be less crime. Prison is their business. The state profits off the suffering and misery of these people and whether intentionally or not maintains these structures.

This channel has taught me that we all make our own choices except for 1. We don’t get to choose who we are raised by and how we are raised. I didn’t choose to grow up in a loving, 2 parent household but I am the product of that. Some people don’t understand the responsibility of having a child and it is really sad. Thanks for your work Mark.

The only thing that is certain in the whole interview is that they are sex workers, the rest… well, you know, the typical delirious narrative of success and glamour when the reality is that they don't have a penny to fall dead on and they have, between the two of them, 6 children who will surely be afro and will end up on the streets.

Hi there. I think you’re raising an interesting and fair point. My humble feeling is that, while I would agree that there is a fair share of straight judgemental - and not always sugar coated comments in here - there is many reasons to that. I wouldn’t presume to know or understand them all, but I believe that just the exponential growth & exposition of the channel these recent years to an ever bigger and diverse crowd has also brought different kind of public and opinions to it. Also, the very nature of the life story shared in here, are naturally experiences and life styles that would bring a lot of personal thoughts, opinions and strong responses from viewers. A children macramé channel might not bring such hard felt feedback from its audience. So there’s always that. As well, I would kindly remind you that your very comment is, per se, a judgemental comment. And so is mine. From there the quality is always debatable and its bases often obscure in human nature, perceptions and emotions. Just saying. As for Mark’s comment in this one… I agree that Mark expressed a strong opinion and feeling by the end of it. A rare occurrence in my experience here. I have followed him and his channel since the first Witacker’s video or so, and frankly Mark has never been a judgemental host. To the contrary. You - at least I - wouldn’t believe at times the patience, tolerance for BS and empathy he’s demonstrated in all these years of work (in and out of the channel). All that said, Mark is just another human being, with his own biases, morals, judgements, etc., and so aim I. but again, I believe he has always practiced a sane and prof. distance, pragmatism, and stayed measured in all the years and hundreds of interviews. My take. And heck, well, it’s his channel. I feel he’s earned his stripes and it’s up to him to direct and nurture it the way he wants. But thank you for sharing that thought, I felt your comment touched on something, and was not entirely wrong, it does feel as there are more “spicy” and hard opinionated comments these days. And I had “stupid opinions “ too when younger, as you mentioned. Actually… I fear I might still do. o_O I apologise Mark to speak of you this way, as if you were not in the room or in need of my support. I just felt the point was not void of merit and deserved to be challenged. Aaaand I guess it was a good excuse for my old ego to speak his mind. Such social creatures in search of attention, recognition, approval and Love that we all are… Thanks Mark for your work. Keep up the spirit. Cheers everyone

This felt pretty judgmental, Mark - I don’t necessarily agree with the way these girls have decided to live their lives, but I thought you were interviewing, not judging. Not wanting to be their dad, making comments about the amount of children they have and the circumstances those kids are in etc… just felt different to how you usually (or used to) interview and interact with these people. Don’t let your difference of opinion colour your interviews, as it comes across as disrespect here for sure.

@@madeleinereed7134 💯 I thought this channel was created to educate, and to encourage understanding, tolerance and acceptance of those in the “underbelly” of society, individuals with less socially acceptable lifestyles etc. Pointing fingers, making critical or judgmental comments and shaming subjects for their poor choices/behaviour doesn’t seem to align with the channels supposed aim, nor does it align with unbiased interviewing, or with breaking down the stigma associated with the topics in these videos. Both of them are absolutely full of it. Silly silly girls. 6 kids between them?! A disgrace.

Girl was ready to fight when he asked about her raising her own kids. I've seen this a lot with absent parents. My brother and sister's dad was that way. He was out in LA doing crack and sending, like, $5 toys to them for Christmas then would tell his family he was raising his kids and taught them everything, etc. Dude was 2,000 miles away. Hell, when he lived 3 miles away he still only saw those kids once a year. Certain lifestyles warp your idea of reality and make you think you're doing better than you really are. It's sad to see that in people so young.
