Elvis Presley did a song 1968 "IF I CAN DREAM" for Bobby and DR Martin Luther King "You have just witnessed a devastated Elvis singing out his soul to honor his assassinated friends, Dr. Martin Luther King, and Senator Bobby Kennedy who was also a fierce fighter for human rights and equality. Watch the video "Elvis Presley and the Black Community" and that will give you an good idea of how Elvis fought his heart out for the innocent downtrodden.. He grew up dirt poor and hung out with African Americans who loved him as much as he loved them. He was a force for good, and it hurts to see him called a racist. He was a courageous fighter all of this life. I love that man. listen to that song. Thank you!

Same here, Thomas. RFK died right after my 10th birthday. It was inconceivable that another Kennedy brother could be assassinated and die only two months after MLK, and when the loss of JFK was still very raw in many people's minds (including my family's). All three men gave so much hope and meant so much to so many people. RFK's death happened at the very end of my 4th-grade school year. I was fortunate to have a teacher (and parents, too) who insisted her students closely follow, understand, and discuss current events every day. So I was keenly aware of the all the major news events that school year including civil rights, the MLK assassination, the Vietnam War and the Tet Offensive, the anti-war protests, the Pueblo incident, LBJ's decision not to run for re-election, Bobby Kennedy's campaign and the other candidates for the 1968 presidency.

RFK Jr. has stated that he does not want to fund Ukraine, and he has many controversial and conspiracies viewpoints. I do not believe he is a good Candidate, all I believe is that he will split the votes for Biden, benefiting Trump. RFK Jr’s family members have told him not to run, and they endorsed Biden (who in no means is perfect, yet still is a decent moral man).

@@UnitedStates17 Are you implying RFK Jr. is immoral because he doesn’t want to fund Ukraine? What are his other “controversial” views? Biden is by no means a moral man. If the Kennedy brothers were alive to witness the Supreme Court's recent actions, particularly the presidential immunity decision, they'd be sickened and immensely alarmed. The court transformed the office of President into a kingship for 1 man's benefit. Two-thirds of the court are bestowing upon Trump all ammunition required to lead as a Fascist despot. Undoubtedly the Kennedys would fight this utilizing all of their influence.

Just reading the date of this speech, my cousin was killed in Vietnam the day before - he was 19. I remember all too well the evening he was assassinated. I never understood how this could happen, sadly I do now. Don't be fooled - RFK Jr. IS NOT THE MAN HIS FATHER WAS.

How so? He literally has the exact same views, ideals, and policies of his father and uncle...

God damn the horror of what Siran Siran did. May he rot in his cell.

And RFK Junior wants him freed. At least most of his brothers and sisters are not bats--t crazy like him, and want Sirhan to stay right where he is. In the case of Sirhan and the Manson lunatics, 50+ years is not "enough." I am no fan of Gov. Newsom, but I am 100% behind him on this issue. Life means life.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't RFK Jr. say that someone else (or, in addition to Sirhan - can't recall) shot his father in that hotel kitchen in 1968?

His son doesn't believe his father was killed by Sirhan. Complete stupidity as there were at least 20 witnesses in a 12 x 12 area. He would say his son is nuts.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr has nothing to do with his father. He is not a continuation of his father. He is best left ignored. Robert F. Kennedy Sr’s loss was more than merely the loss of one man. It was in essence an avalanche of lost hopes, lost aspirations and, yes, lost lives -- mainly in the Vietnam disaster, which Richard Nixon prolonged. I still mourn his loss, almost 56 years later.

Robert F Kennedy Sr. was his older brother's chief adviser, and it was JFK that got America entrenched in Vietnam when he sent 15,000 military into that country (less than 50% the size of Texas), and despite what JFK said, they were not coming out, and had he lived, JFK was headed down the same path that LBJ took in 1965. Why?? Because JFK didn't know what he was doing and he botched Vietnam. I take him at his word in his inauguration address ("bear any price, any burden, etc."). JFK was stuck, and once in, it's impossible to pull back and get out. Robert McNamara made that point.
