If these republican electorate is getting older, why do they keep voting for people who want to deny seniors their social security benefits? Every time someone says "party of Reagan" all I can think of is his brilliant "trickle down" theory that has wiped out our middle class and made the poor destitute.

Indeed the GOP electorate is getting older that's because young people believe Lies about Republicans opposing social security hating the environment and supporting voter suppression. You see young people are easier to Brainwash. So I guess that says it all!

Yeah, like, how he supported the killing of priests and nuns, doctors and nurses, and teachers by right-wing death squads in Nicaragua. How great was that? Like, how he sold weapons to Iran, which was only slightly illegal. What moxie, right? Like, how Ollie North was importing cocaine into America to fund the Contra terrorists. Enterprising, no? Just doing "God's" work. pffft

Justice Scalia once told a story about it. That day, Reagan's staff told Nino that they had been working the President all day, and they were sure that he would correctly pronounce "Scalia", but they couldn't make any promises on "Antonin". Haha

The reason why the abortion debate has been so catastrophic is because of Roe v wade which nationalized an issue that was supposed to be fixed at the state level.... the Judiciary Corrupting Democracy lead to the catastrophic and painful abortion debate. Imagine what would have happened If states legalized abortion through legislative process. We wouldn't have debate to abortion each election cycle.... the Justices who legalized abortion were selfish and Polticial Activists who committed treason.

lifetime appointments are the most un American thing ever. 8 years on the court tops.
@briane173
@briane173 8 ай бұрын
If it's in the Constitution, it's not "unAmerican." SCOTUS lifetime appointments are there for a reason and that's to keep the Judiciary above the mosh pit of ephemeral politics. The closest a justice will ever get to politics is the day they're nominated and go through confirmation hearings. It's precisely _because_ of politics that they're lifetime appointments. The People have their say over who is appointed to the bench through the President they elect and the Senators who vote for or against an appointment. Justice is justice; justice isn't achieving the only outcome you'll accept. You should want someone who is true to the law and jurisprudence, not the capricious political whims of mob rule.

@@kona6451 Well it's true, and if you're offended by "yum yum" you must be new here. Lol You don't think the Founders put thought into this? You need a non politicized court, and having term limits would further politicize the court. Every election would be about "who was going to be put in the court and what they would do." Political promises... That's also why they are an unelected position. No campaigning.. no political promises. You need stability and consistency in the court and it's rulings too. Changing judges constantly wouldn't be better.

@@juicelino3867It equates to The People have spoken. Anyone who doesn't subscribe to what Reagan believed and worked for I expect them to be critical, and that is their right. But for someone to proclaim from the rooftops that someone is a horrible President because they say so is an insult to the voters and their franchise. It screams "I'm right and everyone else is an idiot for not agreeing with me." We've had quite enough of that the past 12 years, thank you.
