Recover from Long Covid

Күн бұрын

Cody Turner describes his Long Covid journey from the depths of despair to full recovery. While this is not a prescription for recovery, this is hopeful story. It is possible to fully recover. Much to be learned from Cody's journey. Cody was 25 years old and was running 5 miles a day when he developed Long Covid in August of 2020. This happened after asymptomatic Covid-19. And he had a severe reaction to his second Pfizer shot in March of 2021. He joined Long Covid - Recover via Fasting / Autophagy in Dec of 2020. A conversation with Thomas Bunker the admin of that group. If you aggregate all of Cody's symptoms at their worst, his Long Covid severity score was 62. If you wish to quantify your symptoms, take the survey: forms.gle/iAxKfNo7FLrtNp8s8

I had mild cold symptoms for 3 days, didn't get tested. After 5 daysi felt ok so I went and lifted weights for an hour. The next day I had extreme fatigue. The next day my resting pulse rate was 115 beats per minute. I had to lift a heavy object for 10 seconds and my heart rate went through the roof. After many days of intense research I went on a high fat meat, fish and whole egg diet eating twice a day. Never eat 4 hours before bed. 20 thousand iu vit d3, 4, 180mg pills of tocatrenoils, 4 vit k2, 4 aged garlic tabs, 3 coq 10 , 2 magnesium tabs, 3, 500mg barberine a day. Nutritional yeast with every meal, 1 probiotic a day, I high quality fish oil a day, 2, 500 mg vit b food based source of vitamin C powder. 2 heaped teaspoons a day with water. Must be food based not synthetic. Not cheap. Do not exercise rigorously, brisk walk 20, 30 min. Some half push ups with you knees on the floor. Is enough. Do not stress and do not engage In rigorous activity of any sort even when you feel good. After 8 days my resting pulse has gone to an average of 88 from 115. Also use pure Virginia olive oil and butter, with cooking. Eliminate all sugar from diet including fruit. Dring 2 litres of purified water with half a teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt and a dash of lemon per litre. Never drink while eating and take small sips throughout the day.

You guys nailed it with this video. I'm only half way through but wanted to comment on things you have spoken about so far before I forget. For the psychological aspect of LC, it really does mess with your mind. The mental health symptoms felt chemical to me and not emotional. Alcohol makes me relapse so bad, I can't touch it now. I'm 8 month in so far and very slowly getting better. I've been taking my community host defence fungi capsules for 3 months. My last and worse relapse was April 2022, since then my relapses aren't as intense. I'd say I'm around 70% better now. I also agree about minimizing exposure to LC doom and gloom groups, they helped me in the early days to really identify what was wrong with me, but after that, they can be damaging to your recovery. Now I only search for recovery stories when I'm relapsing. When I feel well again, I just live my life and try to forget that I'm still recovering from LC.

Good interview. I wouldn’t say LH recovery is rare. I’ve seen a lot of LH athletes return to sport symptom free. They just leave the FB groups so most recoveries are undocumented. I’m LH for 17 months but I’ve been very close to fully out in random months at times. And that’s with a lot of skiing and biking. It’ll happen.

I would certainly say excercise is a big factor. I had glandular fever/mono in 2019 and was very careful with excercise. However, after a few months i tried running again and got the exact same PEM as I now get with long COVID. The difference is with glandular fever/mono is that I pulled back. When I got COVID I got back into training after 3 to 4 weeks and got PEM again. But this time I stupidly didnt pull back. Now i have long COVID and POTs.

I’m a long hauler of 19 months now. Mine was from the Pfizer vaccine. I tried fasting and the autophagy protocol but it severely aggravated my POTS. HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen) was the single most effective thing I’ve done. Must be a hard shelled chamber at 2 ATA of pressure. 20-40 sessions minimum.

So glad I stumbled upon this. I've watched many recovery videos. All good but this seemed to resonate with me. The excersize early on thing was so interesting. I was running ( and surfing) everyday. Maybe 50k weeks. Waited over 2 weeks after my initial infection , which was light then went for a light 4k run. Felt awful halfway through so walked home and lay down. Waited another week or so then went for a surf on a small day ( do not much paddling or hold downs etc). Got out after maybe half an hour. Walked home and slept for 2 hours. That was Nov 2020 and I'm still struggling. And uf anything it seems to have got a little worse since Xmas. Can I ask about the alcohol thing. I drink most fri or sat. Usually once a week. But I'll feel awful or at least not good all week. Have drinks , feel fairly boreal. Be a bit hungover the next day. Groggy and tired ( but not my usual long covid symptoms and fedlings( and then the next day they will return. Is the alcohol masking or inhibiting the symptoms and once it wears off they return. Or am I being somewhat naive. I may eat my own neck soon

Currently on my 4th day of a water fast to treat long covid. Been suffering from a very fatiqued depressed state for half year and also had some gut issues. My mood already enhanced a lot but from the third day on I experienced a thrust in fatique and also noticed my heartbeat in my stomach which is hopefully a sign of the autophagy fighting the remaining covid fragments. I‘m really hoping to see a good improvement of my symptoms. Also I will keep an anti-inflammatory diet after the fast to give my body the best possible opportunity to reproduce stem and immune cells. If there is any interest of an update after the fast let me know! Wishing all the long haulers a lot of energy to fight long covid!

Poll ----- "What are we waiting for?" Those who are in Long Covid ........ what are we waiting for? I've talked to so many doctors and no one seems to know for sure. Is it viral persistence? Is it a destruction or a disruption of the Metabolic Process? Is it Viral Debris? No one seems to know. I am 90% recovered -- 10 months. My remaining symptom is chronic fatigue. If I get moving, or have a work-out, the "fatigue" will go away. But it comes back every morning. I'm lifting weights again, but my endurance is horrible. My MAX strength is back to normal, but I can't hardly do anythign for any duration. If I work-out in the gym, I'm done for the day --- whereas before, I could work-out and then do yard work, run a chain saw, etc., etc. So, to me, it seems like my body is unable to produce enough ATP in a short time frame. But why? What are we waiting for?!!! Does our body simply need TIME to heal? Obviously Cody's body is healed. So encouraging to hear. I am 55. So I suspect it will take more time for myself. Last question/observation ---- any other modalities that have helped people? HBOT ....... NAD IV therapy ...... infared sauna ........ Besides supplements and a proper diet .................... just looking for other modalities that might help the healing process. Good luck to all Long Haulers. Hang in there. Be encouraged.
