Thank you for a great video! It has been many years since I visited Zakopane - I first went there in 1991! Beautiful place. I still want to travel through Europe by train some day! 😃

I truly appreciated your video. I like to see areas of Poland (and Lithuanian) that are off the beaten path. One can always see the touristy places. Liked the engine coupling scene a lot. Thanks from the US.

I traveled from Kaunas to Warsaw in October last year, changing train in Mockava (IC Hancza). Unfortunately there wasn't restaurant carriage. And nobody checked passports. Autumnal views in Lithuania and North East Poland were incredible, especially that weather was absolutely superb. Thanks for this video.

Zakopane is the highest major railway station in Poland. Small Polana Jakuszycka station in western Poland is situated even higher, at 878 metres above the sea level !

To speed up the train Lithuania should purchase one multiple unit double fuel train (like Impuls 2 Hybrid by the Polish company Newag) and run it itself on a route Kaunas - Warsaw. It costs peanuts and the immediate time saving for the route Kaunas - Warsaw is approx. 1,5 hour. Time is saved on unnecessary long stops in Bialystok, Suwalki and Mackowo (Mockava), where at present there is a need to change entire trains, locomotives, direction of driving or connect/disconnect train carrieges. Each of these station stops takes now around 30 minutes, while it should 3-4 minutes.

Question to Lituanian watchers: why the most in demand train in Poland which is Kiyv Pasażyrśkyj - Warsaw East (locomotive plus 15 carriages always full to the brim, even though the domestic, intra-Poland travel on this train is not allowed) can go the entire route without changing the carriages (at the Polish border only a locomotive is changed), but your country cannot organise something like that?

Można też pierwszym pociągiem jechać do Krakowa bezpośrednio a potem jest więcej pociągów do Zakopanego. Pozdrawiam

Najwidoczniej jednym z założeń przejazdu było "zaliczenie" nocnego pociągu do Zakopanego po prostu :)

TLK -> IC -> EIC -> EIP from the lowest to the highest standard in PKP (and price). TLK has no restaurant carriage. PKP Intercity sells 1 class tickets from Mockava/Mackowo to Poland at least in its app. It does not sell 1 class tickets for the Lithuanian train.

1. No certification of the locomotive and carriagies for Lithuania. 2. The Polish taxpayer does not want to pay for even more losses and I hope you are not that naive to think the route may bring enough income to meet the costs.
