This is what the FAA was founded for. To help facilitate and educate aviators. Their other actions in punishing and over regulating are not part of why the FAA was founded.

Their mandate is also to enforce aviation regulations. If pilots would follow those they'd nothing to complain about.

That’s actually not at all why the FAA was founded. Congress spelled it out. Enforcement is one of their top priorities, by law.
