Gavaskar Sir's height was 5'5" and that too in an era without grill helmets , facing Denis Lilee, Malcom Marsh, , Michael Holding, Walsh and hitting long boundaries with those thin bats!! Hat's off for his valuable 10K runs and his confidence!!♥️♥️

2:46 I bet you'll never ever get to see this dedication in any sportsperson. Sunil Gavaskar was an absolute genius who worked hard and fought tirelessly against some of the greatest fast bowlers of world cricket that too with a stick in hand and no helmet and yet scored 10,000 runs at an ridiculous average of 51.1 and went past the legenedary Sir Don Bradman's 29 centuries by a big margin. I bow to his greatness.

Sunil Gavaskar is the greatest batsman ever, not his legendary records, or that he opened and made all those runs, or that he played the deadliest bowlers in cricketing history without a helmet but just that footwork man, see the footwork, the way he dances on to the ball, no one ever had that, no one!!!

Diff between Gavaskar and Tendulkar: lies in the graceful backfoot play by the former. Gavaskar displayed more grace when he plays of his legs on the inside as well as the square drive and square cut. Sachin's best strokes were always from the front foot - straight drive and drives on the up through covers and off his legs over midwicket. They are a delight, but the compact figure of sunny during stroke making was elegance personified.
