In one of the great displays of leg-spin bowling, Shane Warne picked up 12 wickets against South Africa in 1994, including both Darryl Cullinan dismissals

I started watching this and my wife says "Why are you watching that? You're not interested in cricket." I said "I'm not interested in cricket these days because Warnie isn't playing." So why are you watching?" "Because Warnie is playing."

I remember going to watch on the day when South Africa started really well. Warne had been in some newspaper strife for texting or something. When he came on to bowl, lots of people actually booed. Then he started skittling them and the crowd were eating out of his hand! It became like a Shakespeare play and Warney was definitely the main character. We had some incredible fielders then. Warney left to a standing ovation!

You can hear the admiration for Warne from Benaud. And of course, an acknowledgement of the skill, hard work and discipline. I'm sure the respect was mutual.

Greatest leg spinner of all time. Special mention to Mark Taylors slip fielding as well. Taylor was a masterful first slipper, the best specialist fieldsman I've seen. Mark Waugh (with honourable mention to Jonty Rhodes) is the best all round fieldsman I've seen.

The catch "Junior" takes at bat pad was amazing.....why he was one of the best all round catchers in the history of the game Plus Symcox bowled around the lags??.....If Warne had only done it once in his career you would call it a fluke.....but he did that a number of times.

I was at the SCG for days 1,2,3 of this test. The first day when Warne took 7 for was brilliant. 2nd day Slats and AB grinded away to give Aus a lead. 3rd day SA fought hard and Warne didnt have success against them til day 4. I wasnt at day 4 but SA fought back well thanks to Jonty and Donald. Then Fast fanie. I went to day 5 when SA got in front and McDermott then played his shots. DAmien Martyns shot was unforgettable and so was Mcrath. Great win by SA, esp. Fast FAnie de Villiers.

I love Shane Warne, fave bowler when I was a kid. If the modern DRS system was in place back then, then I have a feeling that the c&b at 2:05 may have been overturned and declared not out cause looking at frame my frame I think it was one of those where it hits the ground the same moment he gets some of his fingers jammed partially underneath and the catcher is unaware. But anyway a great 12 for in the match!!🤩🤩🤩

Cullinan is playing Warne like he would have an SA leggie ie thinking an off stump line would turn away from the stumps and thus he tried to play an expansive drive.. Similarly Jonty in the 1st innings is playing for a middle and off line a tradional leggie bowled instead of the middle and leg line..
