@@NorthwestSawyer very small Doug Fir. Lots of big Norway spruce, but they are knotty, and the k other are super hard. Causes blade dive in every knot.

Thank you we have had a commercial wood manufacturing business in the family for about 50 years. It is neat to see you do things. We build over 1200 products and mill our own wood. It is fun to watch the scale you do it in it makes good entertainment.

The band-saw mill has some danger - much less than the exposed, circular blade mills I expect. But that log pile! Not a place that leaves any room for lack of attention. Thanks for the video!

I was just looking at ordering an LT35 from wood-mizer on monday down in Wood village. I am new and learning what I can from the local guys, headed out to Willamina to drop some fir and mill it up brother.

Thank you, Jim. There’s light at the end of the tunnel. Their new manufactured home is set to be delivered around the end of next month. They’ll be having a new septic system installed around then too. I’ll be filming as much of it all as I can. I also plan to do a “one year after the fire” video.

The overall roof is 13’4” wide by 33’ long. I have 12’ between the posts and 25’ openings.

hey, my 35 had that same sqeek with the log turner. upon investigating i found the pin had broke the end cap weld. Im not saying yours just needs some greese, but its worth checking.

The Mt. Helens pond (Lake) has maintained the fill with Doug Fir sinse the 80's. Have you considered whether they have rotted? How about asking to ery one?

Those logs would probably be worse than milling drift wood as the ash is very abrasive. Although, if I was offered one I think I’d have to mill it for the sake of history 😬

You certainly have some big diameter logs sitting on your log deck. I will say milling 1/2" thick boards is certainly looks tedious. Good thing for Accuset and power feed on the mill.

If you can swing it, get the 40. I was stretching thin at the time to get my 35 but I wish I had a bigger mill now.

Hey Jason, when you fill an order for 2x6 do you saw cut to 2" x 6" or something undersized like finished dimension lumber?

I let the client decide. I recommend undersized if they plan on using hardware like joist hangers but ultimately they decide.

You must have exacting standards when your fire wood is 10x better than big box store R' us.... Had my 1st Covid 2 weeks ago not too bad better than getting it soreness at the injection site a bit of a headache the 1st day and a couple nights of chills just plan accordingly. The shelter also has the bonus of being a sun shade living in the desert southwest thats something we value most.....

I don’t know what I was thinking with that log. No ill effects 4 days later. My mom has had both shots and had zero problems. My neighbors should be thanking me. I built a sawmill shed and now it doesn’t rain!

At the time I was already swinging hard to get the 35. Had I known how much work I’d get, I’d have gotten a 40 or 50 wide.

Probably not as many as you’d think. I typically plug my GoPros into either an external battery or an extension cord.

That’s what I thought when I bought it. Oh no, it just makes you think you can work bigger logs. I’d argue my manual mill was easier 😂

I see an accident waiting to happen with that stack of logs next to your saw. Either they will roll and take out your vertical support beams or you will break a leg trying to get a log off the pile. Please do something different than what you're doing.

Makes me wince when I see those big logs sitting uphill, as you said if one rolls then it will snap the new shed post off. And that is probably the best case scenario.
