John is going to be doing a lecture in Philadelphia in July. I booked a seat as soon as I saw his name and saw that the lecture would largely be covering this book!

Great video, as always! I was at MagiFest in January, and saw the book at the VI booth but didn't pick it up. It was sold out after John and Asi's lecture, and now I'm kicking myself. Will definitely snatch it up whenever it gets released! John Bannon published longer routines of tricks woven together in several of his books/booklets: Dear Mr. Fantasy, Six Imoossible Things, and Bullet Party.

Thanks for sharing! Yes, Steve Beam also has possible combinations that work together in the back of some of the later Semi-Automatic Card Trick books. However, they weren't designed to go together, it's just possible to have them in the same set without messing up your setup

I think that I bought this book at Magifest. I will have to double-check. I have not updated my spreadsheet over the last year. I am so sorry to hear about the fire. Don't tell me if the Marlo Magazines were completed and burned up. I won't be able to handle it. LOL. Honestly, I can't imagine how long it will take to get back to normal. We are here supporting you and Vanishing Inc. Thank you for all you do for the Erudite community. Thank you Don's Magic and Books for all you do for our community. I love your hanging sign; it is so beautiful!

Been watching your videos lately and was heading over to don’s to get some books, is there a new discount code as for now?

This sounds awesome! Does the book teach some cool ways of setting up during the performance? Apart from the spread cull I don't know many techniques to accomplish this and I haven't found many good resources on it... Great video!
@EruditeMagic7 ай бұрын
The entire book is focused on performing these effects from a shuffled deck in use!
@jonathannelson75847 ай бұрын
@@EruditeMagic I see! What I mean is that one could do tricks with set ups with a shuffled deck in use as long as you know how to be sneaky set it up as you perform in front of your spectators. But this is not the case for the tricks in this book then, they're all impromptu? :)

I've always liked the 8-way brainwave followed by Red Hot Mama combination. From Amar's easy to master card miracles.

It's a good 1-2 punch and illustrates the same concept on a much smaller scale.

Recently I've been working on going from a shuffled deck into memdeck (Mnemonica for me) so I can end with either a NDO finale or 26! by Caleb Wiles. My current solution is: Divination effect (my own, I think; lets me sort the deck into sections) // Either/Or by John Guastaferro // Shark Attack by Darwin Ortiz // Cloud 9 + Additudinal by John Bannon // Elementary My Dear Vernon by Matt Baker. At this point I'm in Mnemonica order and can pretty easily convert to stay stack from there for whatever endong fits the best. It's more steps than are needed---you can go FASDIU to Memdeck in 1-2 steps---but I think spreading it out helps disguise the fact that you're sorting the deck into a specific order. Still a work in progress, though, and I'd rather get the whole routine down to 6 or 7 phases if possible.

Just a thought. If Vanishing Inc knows they will be distributing this book, if someone searches on your site for it, could you still show it and allow people to check a box to be emailed when it's available?

Does he add anything of his own to the tricks? Or is it mostly just describing the original routines?
@EruditeMagic7 ай бұрын
Great question - he definitely adds his own touches, especially since each trick sets up for a future one. Each routine is changed in some way, though. I should add that he has permission to explain these routines as well!

Alas, I was hoping this video would discuss some strategies for routining a magic performance. Instead it discussed a book which contains strategies for routining a magic performance. High quality video though, hope to return for more content coming up

Hey Adam, thanks for taking time to comment. Almost all of my videos are about a book, or some way associated with magic in the printed word. Glad to hear that you'll be back. Let me know if I can help you with anything
