From Worry to Hope: Stop Ruminating through this Prayer

Jesus invites us not to worry about tomorrow because He offers the grace we need to be free from excessive rumination. Praying in His Name opens us to his care and healing presence, and expands our focus to see reality with new hope. Try and see!

Since childhood, I've had anxiety disorder and have tended to ruminate a lot! I've painstakingly rehearsed what I'm going to say to other people - and even what I'll say in prayer! 😮 And later I worry about what I said and how I said it. My living alone as a widow has made it difficult for me not to worry about things. I know Jesus wouldn't want me to feel this bad. Only "the accuser" does. So I'm in therapy with a Christian therapist, and I highlight and re-read verses in Scripture that reminds me of God's infinite love and that He is always by my side. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I hope to shake off my anxiety and "ruminating" and learn to surrender everything to Jesus. Thank you, Sister, for your encouragement!

Amen. My great-aunt had typhoid as a young girl and prayed that if she was spared she would enter holy orders. She became Soeur Marguerite Marie. My second name is after her, Clémence. Mercy. I am going back to the Catholic church and I am so excited. Tomorrow is my first Catechumen class. I found a book of hers at my mother's. I am so happy for being named after her. God bless you Sister and thank you. I felt so much peace around my great-aunt as a little child and I so glad to finally to be returning to the Roman Catholic church after a lifetime of peregrinations.

Dear Philomena ❤️‍🩹. Compassion to you. This is a very difficult life situation. And it is your reality. In the midst of it all do your best to take care of yourself in very small and ordinary ways. Eat sleep rest movement also something enjoyable for you, even it it is a favourite tv programme to look forward to. Also I enjoy audio books and I listen through a free library app. It is vital every day you have very small steady ways of practicing self care, Minding you is a strong way to help your daughter and grandchild. Also if there are advocacy agencies to link her into. When there is a parent giving it all, the agencies will not be involved. It is like a long term plan. God Bless and wishing you well.

I just found your videos. Thank you for sharing your love for our Creator. I am able to stop feeling worried, concerned, burdened, anxious and depressed by reminding what I read in Matthew that God wants to give him all of our worries, burdens etc and he will take care of those things. I remember reading in the book of Matthew that God never said that we would not have difficulties in life, yet He told us that with our faith in Him and all that He is He will gets us through any situation. Offer up your suffering. "Lord I offer up my acute worrying/my tears/my grief to you for (somebody you know who needs grace)." I just said it carrying a load of heavy dishes that made me puffed out. I offered it up for my mother. You are basically offering up your struggles and sufferings to give grace for somebody you know. It's really beautiful. Graces surges into the world. You offer up when you are coming out of the storm of tears or whatever. It really calms me down and leaves me serene. You can even say it looking at a stranger who looks like they could do with some grace, a homeless person or a busy nurse or anybody at all.
