Andrew Hales was once one of the biggest youtube pranksters in the world. However Andrew’s days getting millions of views per upload are gone and he’s recently been working part time sorting boxes in an Amazon factory. He was once earning 6 figures a year but recently admitted he was broke. This video documents the rise and fall of the channel LAHWF and the man behind it, Andrew Hales.

I actually met Andrew at the amazon warehouse. I didn’t know who he was but we started talking with each other when we were inducting together at the docks. He introduced to me who he was and where he came from and I thought it was a very awesome story of his life, I never even believed him anyways until he later quit and I looked him up on KZbin and there he was, I saw that everything he was saying was true. It’s very hard to believe someone and peoples story of how someone can go from that rich and successful to amazon warehouse worker but it does seem like he is in much better financial situation now and I really regret not talking to him more and trying to learn ways how I can get my life together working at amazon warehouse. I hope he reads this message. I hope you remember me Im Kyle, and I was the guy always wearing the blue cap, at docks with the blue vest.

Indeed. When someone comes from money or blows up at a young age without ever experiencing how miserable it is being forced to get up and go to work when you’re tired, when your friends/family are doing something fun, or when you just straight up don’t want to, then having to deal with a$$h0le bosses/coworkers and doing a job that’s boring, they’re generally spoiled, entitled, and lack something that “blue collar/normal people” have. They don’t know what it’s like to live in the REAL WORLD

Andrew is one of a small number of creators that ever felt "human" to me. My favorite period wasn't when he was making videos even, but I did like them and that's how I started watching them. His take on "prank" videos was easily better than everyone else's. His best content was always his vlogs though. Specifically in the period when he was living with cherdleys. Just a regular video of Andrew vlogging just felt like hanging out with one of my friends except with a novelty added in. The relationships Andrew had with people in his vlogs were just great content to watch. It's actually how I found out about cherdleys and how he became endeared to me. I think cherdleys puts out garbage content for the most part, but I still sometimes watch his vlogs just because it was impossible not to start to like him after watching his friendship with Andrew. Hope Andrew is doing well now. Dude is a warm soul.

Seems like the most likely factor was the combination of Covid and KZbin's changes during 2020 which promoted the biggest names much more constantly while rarely recommending channels with lower viewership or ratings. The big get bigger and the small get smaller. Sadly Andrew got caught just barely on the lower end of that spectrum in growth rate. There's also an increasing professionalism gap as more and more KZbinrs turn it into a professional career and employ enormous amounts of time and energy into making videos perfect, while previously KZbinrs with moderate levels of skill and video engineering quality were still able to make it in the past. Not to diminish Andrew Hales in the slightest because he had great content, but it's also a sign of KZbin growing into adulthood.

I really do hate channels like this to just talk about other people that are more interesting than themselves and exist solely to s*** on people whose careers aren't doing that well

why do creators ever think its a good idea to ask for a subscription at the beginning of a video? you said it yourself "if you enjoy my content, consider subscribing"... well i dont know if i enjoy your content if i just stumbled upon your channel and if i saw your videos before, chances are that im a subscriber already or i probably never will be. its nothing but an annoyance for new viewers and just putting that at the end of the video would be 100% more beneficial for your success!
