The band was kinda back to the classic sound and stepped away from whatever the last album was. Emily is no Chester, but she definitely is an excellent singer and I think she does the job pretty well. I'm very interested in this album. It's gonna be a different experience from the band, but definitely the beginning of a new LP era.

To be fair, whenever they use the argument that its not linkin park without chester. My counterargument was "think of the other bands that have replaced their singers as well when their singer died." Alice in Chains, AC/DC, Static-X, etc. Some bands even replaced their singer quicker than Linkin Park. What im saying is that it depends on the band on whether they are ready to move on without the singer to create new material. I think their healing is done and ready to create more music, and they know they can't replace chester but they are ready to move on

While I am very much a Linkin Park enjoyer, certainly more than you Mr. Meltdown, I would never disagree with anyone who thinks that LP's discography is made up of a good amount of unsophisticated mainstream serving radio material. But considering I thought, I'll never be able to hear them live again, not to mention hearing a new album... I'd take everything I get and looking at the last three albums, I don't have the bar set that high. So when I can walk out of this enjoying like at least 3-4 songs, I'm satisfied, that would be an improvement. Oh and my take about them returning at all: The world moves on and so does Linkin Park, so as tragic as Chester's fate is, what do people expect from the band? That they grieve until they die? And after all, it is Mike's/ the rest of the bands intellectual property, so who am I to tell them what to do.

Chester is ranked as one of the greatest singers of all-time. Emily has a powerful scream, so those high notes sound pretty good. But the 1st song I heard with the new vocalist was "The Emptiness Machine". She is just not the singer that Chester was. She does fine, but when the previous singer had a voice that was top 5 in the world, those are some massive, massive shoes to fill. I have mixed feeling about the new LP era. But despite that, I am truly happy that the members can still perform their songs, once again.

Nothing against her personally but her voice(live mainly) doesn't really punch as much as it should. She always kinda sounds off. Not necessarily comparing it to Chester but in general. Kinda seems like it's not something she normally does. Where was this energy for the Pantera reunion? Aren't they a refurbished ship with some different parts too? No kumbaya shxt for them, and they aren't even making any new music lol
@themetalmeltdownofficial9 күн бұрын
In my opinion the Pantera reunion is still significantly worse. Contrary to what Pantera fans continue to argue, Vinnie Paul's thoughts and feelings on a Pantera reunion were extremely well documented: he didn't want it, any reunion without Dimebag would've been disrespectful and disingenuous. I think Linkin Park reunited because they genuinely wanted to keep going and make new music, I think Pantera reunited because all the roadblocks were finally gone and Phil Anselmo wanted to be a big name rockstar again and rebuild his reputation and I stand by that.
@bobbybobbinson699 күн бұрын
@themetalmeltdownofficial but Chester's mom and son didn't want Linkin park to replace Chester, how do you know if Chester would have wanted them to continue without him? Is there anything that details that anywhere if that was discussed? That's the problem. You "think" Phil is just doing it for money. Is Rex doing it for money too? Maybe Rex wanted to reunite and play those old songs again too. It's just a lot of uncharitable assumptions towards Phil and Pantera is what I hear from detractors. How do you know Mike didn't want to reunite Linkin Park for money and "rock star fame" too?
@themetalmeltdownofficial9 күн бұрын
@@bobbybobbinson69 To be fair, I don't. So I guess it comes down to vibes: this simply doesn't bother me as much. And to be extra fair, the Pantera reunion doesn't bother me anymore really either. Like I look back at that video I made a couple years ago and I think 'yeah I was a bit melodramatic' lmao. But cest la vie. One thing though: I firmly believe Phil IS doing this for the money. A few years before the Pantera reunion he was doing solo shows and doing full Pantera sets but it wasn't packing clubs and stadiums the way that Pantera currently is. He wants to be on the big stage, he wants his bag, he wants to rebuild his reputation. I think Rex would've just gone along for the ride no matter what. Meanwhile I'm not seeing the proof that Mike specifically did this for money.
@bobbybobbinson699 күн бұрын
@@themetalmeltdownofficial yeah I get you, I just think people freaking out about the Pantera reunion just kinda have kneejerk reactions and hate on it just because. But honestly though if you're right, is there anything wrong really with wanting to be on the big stage for the sake of it? That's what every rock star wanted to do when they were young, and it's what I and I'm sure you wanted to do when you were a teenager too. I'm sure Phil has missed the epicness of playing to huge crowds with Pantera and even Down since they've been on hold. And what's wrong with wanting to rebuild his reputation? Can't it be both the things you think are his reasons, AND because he loves the music too? Also to be fair there's no "proof" that Phil is doing Pantera for the money either. I kinda think that these negative opinions come from less that there's anything wrong with the reunion, but rather that people just don't like Phil.

I never got the controversy. Bands get new singers all the time. The band, especially Mike wanted to get back, and make some more LP songs. Let's be honest, if people think that this is the worst. They need to re-listen to the album back in 2017, before Chester passed away. This new album is the NEW LP. This is a NEW LP. Emily is not replacing Chester, if she was, they be doing nothing but old songs. But they are making new content. And this new content is good. Not great (*IMO*) but good. It's a stepping stone.
