Sergio, the value-per-minute metric of your videos is completely off the charts! I learned about so many plugins that I haven't heard of before which solve a lot of the issues I've been having lately with obsidian! You blow other content creators completely out of the water, not only in the obsidian niche but everyone at large. Keep up the great work

Important addition for the Better Word Count plugin: it adds the functionality of saying how many characters/words are in a selected area. This makes it better than the native one and is especially useful for essays, e.g., when the References don't count towards the word count.

Thoughts while watching: Setting search - I don't use it (I am in the setting enough) Licat said putting into core may slow app performance so not sure it will happen. Commander - Agreed! Recent Files - Agreed! Paste URL - Agreed! Calendar - I don't use it, querying information is easier and quicker Periodic notes - I only need daily notes 🤷♂ Templater - Agreed Dataview - Agreed Book Search - I use Zotero instead Quick Add - I like the plugin for different reasons PodNotes - I use spotify for me Projects - doesn't offer enough for me to use it DB folder - My personal favourate! Reading time - I don't use it ... meh Better word count - Agreed! Text generator - It is interesting! Kinlde higlights - Agreed Readwise - I use Zotero Spaced Reptition - Love it Plugin update tracker - It is so good!!! Note refactor - I use the default options Table of content - I use the outline core feature Janitor - never found a use for this Homepage and banner - meh Style settings - YES Natural language dates - Yes! Emoji - I just use my keyboard Syntax highlight - Not for me 🤷♂

Thanks for sharing Danny! i've had settings search for a long time now and haven't seen any hit in performance but I do have beefier than average systems - I use it on a Mac studio and a PC with a 3080 so I can't attest to that but I'm sure Licat is right as usual! 8:15 I understand you don't want to be stuck with a broken update if you need to do something important. With a permanent update offset however, you are not just relying on others to develop software plugins for free for you, but also rely on others to do the debugging of such free software for you. If everyone behaves that way, you need to make sure your number of days delay in update is not the shortest, so better set it the update delay to 365 days.

Thanks again for your thoughtful, well organized, and clear content. I’m curious about how you feel about how the use of AI particularly Gpt-3 will affect content creators’ authenticity? In my opinion, there’s an ‘event horizon” with audience trust and surveillance capitalism - AI sits on our timeline right now as an additional source (an input) vs an active part of parsing vault data and creating - I will never feel comfortable sharing my vault data completely - via AI API in obsidian or elsewhere. Your thoughts?

Obsidian is a big passion of mine, but I have a lot more that I want to share! I actually will begin uploading more non obsidian content as many have suggested as well! Starting with the next video, in fact. I am waiting for canvas to mature to make a video on it. I've been using it daily and the potential is there, but I don't usually do videos on brand-new features as a lot might change before it comes out of beta. I also don't just want to do an “overview” of canvas, but instead show how I'm actually using it.

You are probably using each tracker on the same sublist which is why they are shown in list form. Make sure to place each tracker at the top of a list. Like so: # header - Tracker 1 (no sub lists) - Tracker 2 etc If you put them all under the same list it'll render as one big list and not in a horizontal line. Hopefully this helps.

I would argue that the "recent files" plugin is just a worse version of the built-in "quick switcher" feature. I say worse because 1) quick switcher shows the same recent files, but it excludes the file you are currently on, which is a good thing, and 2) quick switcher can also be opened and operated via keyboard instead of just via mouse (much faster).
