Hi, So you are out of the oranges cones of the province of Quebec by now. 😊 Been to the same places around the same dates. Started the North Country Trail of Pictured Rocks Nat’l Park on July 23rd for 4 days of hiking along the lake. What a beautiful hike. All alone by the lake. Also stopped at the Serpent River Park on the way back. Wish we add all that time to keep going. It will be for future years. 🚐

Even if Michigan joined Canada as the new Canadian province, many Canadian's might help rebuild and restore Detroit back up to 1.85 million since that peaked in 1950.

Surprise, sitting in the campground at Sault STE Marie and look who appears. What a great video, loved the milking segment. My home state has much to offer and the colors of the trees this fall is spectacular. Very cold this morning but the park is full waiting and watching for the next Great Lakes freighter to pass by. I hope you visited the locks to see how they raise or lower the ships from Lake Superior, it's fascinating. Safe travels

Loved the dairy farm tour then back into MI to the great UP, my old stomping grounds. Next summer we will take our RV around Lake Superior & I can’t wait! We need to be prepared to battle the mosquitos, something we just don’t have to do in AZ, yet the journey will be worth it. Well done Debbie. BTW, I spent 1 summer working in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and two in the Hiawatha National Forest in the good ole’ days.

That lack of signage on rest areas seems to be an Ontario thing. My memory seems to tell me their provincial campgrounds are the same, suddenly there they are. Here in BC the norm would be a km out, 500 meters out and then a sign at the actual turn in.

Funny how those of us from the states forget that Canada is made up of Provinces and they all have slightly different quirks just as our states do down here.

So, with the Tecnu Extreme, was John trying to keep from getting poison oak/ivy or did he already have a rash? I've not heard of that product before. I also want to taste that yogurt now, was it organic, did they use organic feed? I just joined Harvest Hosts "all access" because I was finding it hard to get available campgrounds as I traveled recently and I want to go across the country next year. Loved all your stops here in this video and you have left me wondering what you will do with a coiled hose. Have a great weekend and as always, thanks for sharing with us.
@FromShetoMe2 жыл бұрын
There was a ton of poison ivy along the trail and I thought I saw John brush against some so I was taking precautionary measures. HH is almost essential on an unplanned cross country trip. It’s a mixed bag but when you close the curtains it doesn’t much matter where you’re parked as long as you feel safe. Don’t know about the yogurt but I’m going to have to track it down next time I’m near the specialty market that sells it.

Thanks for sharing. Yes Canada is really nice. As a long haul truck driver I’ve traveled across Canada several times. Always only on the big roads. I love your recollections of Lake Temagami! My family genealogy research revealed my great-grandfather was partner/owner of the famous Temagami Inn! (Had you ever visited the Inn?) I joyfully discovered letters my grandmother wrote on the Inn letterhead when she was about 14. Fast forward in history: the Inn burned down in 1980… the billiard hall is now the Temagami Lodge. I’ve never visited myself, but it is on the bucket list.

Adieu Canada. Hello New York. Since last week we went back into FRENCH Canada. We had grown accustomed to bi-lingual Canada this summer until we arrived in Quebec where everyone’e primary if not only language is French. We had to skip the French islands off Newfoundland, but this province really feels like a different country than the rest of Canada. It was an odd sensation to call VR parks (yes VR instead of RV) to make a reservation to find no one who speaks English. Beginning with Montreal we started encountering our first nasty urban traffic since June. So we camped and parked across the River and took the Metro into the City to see the Notre Dame Basilica and a Giant Orange Julep roadside juicestand. We braved the urban traffic of Toronto to search out several filming locations of the 1983 classic holiday movie A Christmas Story and watched boat go through the historic Rideau canal locks and a giant cargo ship navigate a lock of the St. Lawrence Seaway. We spent our last day in Canada experiencing the Canadian side of Niagara Falls by day and night. Today we cross back into the US and head for the Winnebago factory in Iowa to seek repairs for our accumulated issues beyond my skills. Enjoyed this week’s video. The robotic cow milking was fascinating! You were sure up close and personal. Was that a Harvest Host? If so, what products did it sell? Have definitely not spent enough time in the UP. Those sand dunes are amazing? Safe travels

Lovely video. The view of the cornfield is exactly what I have across the road from my home. As an Ontario resident, I agree about those little rest stop signs, they are brutal. When we had our travel trailer, we often missed them as we couldn’t make a sudden stop or turn. They also don’t warn if it’s not feasible for larger rigs.
