Suggestion: make a label with filter model #, date and mileage of change, attach to related filter box. You have many dirt road miles! Improve with 10 thousand mile air filter change. 5 thousand miles cabin air filter. And/or remove monthly and simply vacume the filter between changes.

We just completed a camping trip up to William Kent Campground near Tahoe City based on your earlier video. Perfect June weather in Tahoe. We loved taking the bike paths either north or south right out of the campground. Also loved visiting Tahoe Dave's Boardshop in Tahoe City. Best selection of longboard skateboards I have found even in So Cal.. We then spent a few days up at Donner Memorial State Park before heading over to June Lake and Mammoth Lakes. We actually stayed at the New Shady Rest campground and rode our bikes out of the campground and out to the Shady Rest Park you mention. Our ebikes are a bit better suited to the paved bike paths so we ventured around Mammoth but stayed mostly on the paved paths. Thank you so much for all the great inspiration! If you happen to pass through Idaho, be sure to visit the CDA River RV campground near Coeur d'Alene. Fantastic paved bike path about 70 miles long right out of the campground. (Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes)

Thanks and glad you enjoyed the area. We did the Coeur d’Alene trail last year. Now we need to do the Hiawatha trail. We are currently on the Mikelson rail trail in South Dakota and it is a must do for cycling enthusiasts.

Thanks. We often talk about how challenging it would be for us to drive a big rig; a B+ or small C might be perfect for you unless you like to park for extended periods and would get irritated with your traveling companion.

The only time I’ve been to South Lake Tahoe was with my sisters in the 90’s. We camped at Camp Richardson (?) and while there we saw some neat little carved bears at the gift shop. So I secretly bought two of them and had them shipped to my sister’s homes. They still proudly show them.

Debbie & John - Have fun on your ride to pickup your NEW RIDE. The McCoys created quite the “Trail Destination” in winter & summer and then the golf course gets Honorable Mention for shoeing in the winter and a spoiled walk on the course in summer. On my first adventure since 2020 to visit Rocky Mountain German Shepherds Kennel - gotta replace KOA in the Rolling Dog House. Afterward Rock Springs WY - Ennis, MT. See you on the road.

Howdy from Daggett - We are back in California for the first time since early May. It’s sure hotter than when we left. We stayed at Fossil Falls on May 10th and the one-armed ranger was fine then. That’s where we saw the Aurora from. How unusual! The flowers were specular too then. Heading back up 395 tomorrow toward Sacramento. I had staff that worked on clean-up after the Angora Fire. Safe travels

Yes! The ice trick in the fridge. We still have our 3 way and I've been doing this for a while. I put ice in double ziplocs, one on each shelf. Even though my thermometer reads the temp as too high, it takes at least 3 days for the ice to melt, so I think the fridge is doing OK. And, I get to have ice for my drinks that way 😊
@FromShetoMe4 ай бұрын
Yes, the ice does last quite awhile. And I love having plenty of ice as well.

My air filter on the Transit is a bear to get out, it's down in the corner. We guessed you would go to Crowley the first night but you fooled us. My friends were going to stay there but it was crowded, they went to French Camp by Tom's Place. Looks like you two are having an enjoyable first leg of the trip. I think a lot of folks struggle to take your time when you've got the time. Safe Travels and thanks for sharing.

Good topics addressed in this video. I agree with John, regarding engine air filter, but since I do a lot of overlanding I don't pay any attention to the actual recommended mileage as far as changing the air filter. I change the air filter once a year anyway. And it is always full of dirt and in need of changing. I will say though that the air filter change on my truck is much easier than on your vehicle. I'm surprised that the van refrigerators are so problematic as I use a portable ICECO 12v fridge and regardless of the ambient temperature (as high as 100 degrees F) it still is very efficient and maintains a steady 37 degrees. I would have thought that van refrigerators would be at least as efficient as a 12v portable especially given the higher cost.

Seems the chest style fridge is much better than the others.

@FromShetoMe4 ай бұрын
He doesn’t. We have dropper posts so when we stop or are going downhill we push a button and they drop down. When we take off, we push it and it pops back up. Helps prevent falls.
