I started playing and worshipping Fromsoft games after Elden Ring like lots of people did and i absolutely love DS1. Even more so than DS3. Sure the gameplay in 3 is smoother and the bosses are superb but DS1 has this overwhelming sense of scale and a sense of fear when venturing too far on a path that you have no idea where it'll take you. The sense of adventure and exploration is the best Fromsoft has to offer even to this day. I think that no teleportation early on is the main reason for that. Thats just my opinion. Love all their games. Bloodborne is my favourite tho.

Just started replying DS1 a couple days ago, the lack of teleportation until Anor Londo made it so much more interesting, you really have to plan your route which has been lost in the recent titles.

dark souls and demons souls could just be a "had to be there" situation, nothing quite like experiencing these games when they were new and people were still digging thru the games and finding secrets, i feel bad for those who werent there back in 2010 & 2011

Great list - mine is almost identical. Sekiro is my fav, w Bloodborne being just behind it, but Id place both of them in the highest tier. Id probably put both ER and DS3 in the next tier w ER being my slightly preferred game over DS3. Id put the other 3 in a tier below that as they just aren’t my thing. I appreciate them setting the foundation but I didn’t play them back then. I just played them recently after playing the newest games, which is very different from playing them when they first came out. Great list!

Correction: The 2nd DLC for DS2 is the one with Brume Tower. I platinumed Bloodborne and Sekiro and now I'm in the process of getting the platinum for the rest starting with DS1. DS2 is often considered the worst of the lot but it had some great ideas which future games would adopt. I wish they would have brought back and improved on DS2's NG+

Obviously there are quite a few things that don't match my personal rankings or opinions but most of them are. Weirdly DS2 was pretty fun but I died so so much, even more than Sekiro. And Elden Ring is of course my top game of all times since it's my first game. But AC6 has become my close second. Earlier it was Sekiro

Interesting list. I have thought a lot about how I would rank them, because there are always things I love, but things that may take the game down a notch. That being said, I would be very interested in seeing one of these lists with Déraciné. I know the game isn't supposed to be that great, and most don't have a way to play it (VR)... it's almost as if it doesn't exist. So, I would be interested to see that on one of these lists.

The NG+ Demons Souls is something else. I flew through the game. Didn’t pump any health stat. Got to Ng+ and got waxed lol immediately. Next time I’ll make my build tougher lol or get better

I'd certainly play Bloodborne if it was available on PC where I'd absolutely embrace the horror aspect with open arms. The first soulslike I've played was Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and then Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. Next I played Dark Souls 1-3, where the gameplay felt smoother in the 1st and 3rd installment than in Scholar of the First Sin where the enemies also disappeared completely after being killed a fixed number of times, so I utilized the killing window to farm as many souls as I could to level up my character, where this is the one soulslike that I would start over in NG+ by the time I'd revisit it. Then I played Nioh 1 & 2 before Elden Ring and I found the parrying mechanics in Sekiro much smoother and more convenient than in the following soulslike, such as in how enemy attacks can both be blocked and deflected with the same button, how the deflects connected to the attacks and the execution window of the Mikiri Counter technique and double jump against the unblockable attacks. Then it was good for me to have a shield in Dark Souls and Elden Ring to absorb the normal blows from the enemies in case I failed to dodge them, in the same way I blocked the enemy attacks in Nioh. Lastly in finished Lies of P which has a gameplay twist from Dark Souls, Sekiro and Bloodborne, which you should hear more about from its gameplay overview trailer in case you haven't. There I got fairly good at parrying the enemy attacks through Perfect Guard as well as regaining health through aggression after normal guards. Now I'd seriously wish Bloodborne would be made available on PC, which FromSoftware will have less than nothing to lose from.🎉

And honestly , to play Bb, buying a used ps4 for Bb alone is a bargain especially if you’re already a fan of these games. I can’t imagine not playing BB and being a self proclaimed souls fan. Literally nothing would stop me from playing that master piece

I played ds1 first, then demon souls, ds2, ds3, an ima tell ya, in my opinion ds3 is gawd compared to the rest, the only thing it was missing was a ds1 level design, not saying ds3 levels were bad but not as connected as i wouldve wanted it. Edit: bb was almost as awesome as ds3 an elden ring was perfection Ds3 still ma fav tho

Y'know I genuinely do not get why Isshin gets called so difficult. He's certainly a great boss n all that but I always see him getting treated like some pillar of difficulty when he's not even the hardest in his own game. I can easily name a good number of other from bosses harder than Isshin and definitely many other video game bosses that are harder. Sekiro's difficulty in general feels way overhyped for me personally but Isshin's difficulty just feels like delusion at some point.

Ah yes, Armored Core 6, my favourite soulsbourne game. Also, idk why but the DeS remake looks off. All the other souls games look like they're out from a painting, but DeS remake just doesn't give that feeling. It might have better graphical fidelity compared to the rest, but it's visual overall is a lot less impressive.

I thought people were hyped on it like me, but they don’t know what hype means, because I knew they couldn’t be close my hype level when they said the game crushed their expectations, and didn’t come close to mine.
