Prince was a perfectionist. His band was perfect, the notes were all in tune, his band prepared. His live performance is where as good as the studio versions, and that's not easy when you have all the band members playing live.

@@mrvvrm5951 You can´t compare MJ to Prince. To you, maybe, but in the musical world MJ is no match to Prince. Prince was a complete artist, showman and musician. MJ was not even a musician. Today, anyone can copy MJ, no one can copy Prince. That´s the difference.
@markeric33642 жыл бұрын
@@genzod7940 Anyone can copy Mj but not be MJ. This idea that MJ is not a great musician is ridiculous. Prince is more versatile in composing, producing and instrumentation, but MJ is not q shabby composer or producer and his music transcends that of Prince. I respect both artists for their talent but don't act like MJ is just a dancer.
@genzod79402 жыл бұрын
@@markeric3364 Prince was a more complete artist than MJ period. MJ was a great musician? show me any clip where you see MJ playing any instrument please. Even during his career, Michael teamed up with songwriters Quincy Jones and Rod Templeton to create some of his smash hits. I like MJ but please, don´t be irrational on that matter, you make no sense.
@markeric33642 жыл бұрын
@@genzod7940 Sorry what did I say, read my response. Prince is a more versatile musician than MJ. That means he is more complete he can do more than MJ but you here acting that MJ is not a musician. Yes MJ collaborated so do many artists and look what we got music that transcends time. So Im not comparing both it is your dismissal of MJ as a musician that I'm against. Could he play instruments like prince, no, but he understood where to use each instrument to its full effect. So this is not a comparison it me saying that they are both great musicians at their stuff. Prince is more complete, MJ is more impactful.

Most musicians as they age their voice goes, they cling to their youth and it feels cringeworthy. With Prince he was like fine wine he got better and better. His music matured and grew more depth. He brought out the best in his fellow musicians. He gave them credit and you can see he admired them. He breathed music. He was an incredible talent, a beautiful human. It hurts me to know in order to preform he had to kill pain, but I get it. He lived for this, and had he not been able to do this his spirit would have died. He gave to us, he gave all of himself in his performances. He knew how to work an audience, he knew how to move to make us want more. His voice was like honey with so much depth and range. He is the one musician I’ll never get enough of. I love it all from his early days to right before he passed, ALL his music was GOOD. It was all different. It was always relevant, it stands the test of time because it’s SO GOOD. I feel really blessed to have grown up on his music. Sneaking behind my parents back listening to his music, behind my closed bedroom door. Listening so much that even today when I hear an old song I haven’t heard in 30 years I know the words by heart. I’m sad for today’s youth, they don’t have an artist like this... there are a few good artist today but no one even near the talent as Prince. His mama sure named him right, it’s almost as if she new he was destined to become royalty💜

What can you say! I've been watching all these videos on KZbin of Prince. Commenting on different ones that are great! Awesome! Amazing! Then I come across this one and there are no words left to say except what a unique soul he was. RIP to the "Beautiful One".

Prince we miss you!! Greatest musician and performer on stage. No one could play guitar dance or sing like him! Gone too soon. He definitely gave Shiela E her props.

I think we are still not fully aware of how huge the loss is...... To me, we have lost the best live performer that still was left .... It's not only the music or the records, it's the respect he had for music, musicianship and the craft of performing live.

What an explosion of ryhthm and amazing feelling!! Wow!! Prince was just... way too much!! One of the best performers ever. Great singer and absolute guitar master! How sad he is gone now... the world lost one of the very best! Sheila is great also... good thing she's still around.

Prince was singing harmony and back up vocal for Sheila. He stayed in the background and gave her the complete spotlight. Prince and Sheila, soul mates to the end.

Prince needs to be in the genious world records, he started singing at the podium, has anyone ever done that, and he was so fine here.

Yes, this would be the correct way to mix funk and salsa. Sheila E on timbales, Prince on guitar and OH MY GOODNESS, what a backing band!!
