Thanks, an excellent video. After watching, I'll definitely be doing my own Crosstrek's pads and rotors when the time comes.

They’re fairly simple. If you want, just disassemble one wheel at a time so if you forget something you can check the other side to verify fitment.

It’s ok to Jack up the car where you did? I want to put the stand in the same spot you did

Took my Crosstrek in for service this AM expecting its first brake job at 76,000 miles; only worn down @ 60%. Mostly highway miles on it.

Just did my fronts. New pads and rotors. After, noticed terrible vibration. I had to put the old rotors on to get rid of that. Is it common to get bad rotors new? Do they need a burn in period? Thanks great video

I just had rotors and pads changed today.....was surprised how expensive it was. I have the exact same Subaru as in your video (colour too) Is there any way to prolong break Life? Otherwise I'm looking at 1200.00 every four years!!! 😳

Great video. Great tip for the Ebrake if it’s stuck. Do you happen to know the torque specs for the front and rear caliper bolts and the front and rear caliper bracket bolts? Also does this call for thread lock at all?

6:15 I'm in exactly the same position - same bolt and everything. The rotor's still on but I figure if I can pop it off then I can remove the calliper bracket and crank on the rusted-on remaining bolt with something. May I ask what you used to "apply heat several times"? I'm thinking I'll get one of those mini butane blow torches but wondering if that's going to provide enough heat - should I get one of those plumber's torches instead, or is that overkill?
@3guysgarage
@3guysgarage 11 ай бұрын
Exactly what was used was a little butane torch it worked just fine just took a little

@@3guysgarage Got it out! 3/4 tank of propane hot/cold alternating, pumping shots of PB Blaster down it when it's cool enough that it didn't burn or bubble off, then left it for a few hours. Tonight just picked up a set of Die Hard bolt extractors, pushed the 11mm on to the bit of the bolt that was sticking out, hand cranked it with the 3/8" socket wrench, and the beauty just turned right out. What a PITA. Great advice here. If I could subscribe again I would!
