Great video. Adequate lighting, camera focused directly on the parts and work performed. No distracting audio track. This is the best "how-to" video I've ever seen. Two thumbs up. Now I'm gonna go change those brake pads...

Omg! Thank you for such a great video. It helped so much with my sons 06 Ford Escape. Exact detail and right size tools to use. After watching this video, it took me about 30 min from start to finish per wheel. The other videos watched were a joke and I was getting angry. This video helped me a lot. Thank you again! 😘❤😘❤

@@GreaseMonkeyFever Absolutely! After doing it myself I realized that the place I took my ford into to get the brakes done last time had never put the stabilize pins in the brakes! and the holes for the pins were just rusted over haha. Shows that its better to learn to do things yourself!

Ok here is the thing. What is the Rotor Max Wear. I have very long brake pedal push. I disassembled both sides and the pads were like new. Yet they don't feel right. I suspect the rotors are max out. This is a very important point. I will have to measure the rotors. Do you have the dimensons?

awesome video. but just to confirm there was no sound right? lol still great video. right down to the point and detailed.!!!
@GreaseMonkeyFever5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Edgar...and you're right...no sound. You don't want to hear me try and narrate, believe me. Plus, I wanted to create a manual-vid hybrid, so it could be used right at the vehicle, without having to hear through music, muffled talk or accents. Thanks for watching!

One of my anti rattle clips is missing... Will that affect my brakes... If so where can i purchase

Perfect! wasn't sure what size I needed for the slide pins.... didn't have a 17mm...off to harbor freight!
@GreaseMonkeyFever5 жыл бұрын
This particular Escape used a 17mm hex key (this was a 2001). But I have run into later 2004 that use a smaller size (13 or 14mm?). Thanks for watching, Mr Lawson!
@MountainManMike5 жыл бұрын
@@GreaseMonkeyFever I misquoted the size..I meant 7 mm...

Can I bleed a 2005 Ford Escape Hybrid brakes like a regular car or do I have to use some machine? What happens if I don't use the machine and bleed like normal?
@evanlewis27704 жыл бұрын
You can bleed like normal. Depending on your method. If you’re doing it by yourself you will need to submerge the house in brake fluid. If you have a partner do the pump/close method.

I hate ford for using a damn spring on their calipers and i hate Volkswagen even more for using a sheet of metal
