I found where you mentioned the Amazon part number in of the replies to your video, Thanx! When I scrolled down the Amazon window using your part number to where they always display alternative products I saw the same bracket for $27.94

Brenton, Old Vet tells why he is installing the front license plate bracket in the video. He even says Florida does not have a front license plate but the DV tags do come with a front license plate. Did you watch the video?

I purchased it on Amazon. It is listed as "OEM NEW Front License Plate Mounting Bracket Black 2015-2016 Colorado 22891635" and cost $44.95 now. I am not sure what I paid for it but I just checked and that is the current price. I realize it says 2015-2016 but I checked the part number and it was the same as for 2018. Pretty easy install. "My review on Amazon was: This was a very easy part to install. The instructions that accompanied the part were minimal but sufficient. It looks very professional when installed. You will need a #2 Phillips screw driver, a drill and a 13/64 inch bit, and a pop rivet compression tool."Good luck

If I remember correctly I got mine off Amazon. The part number was 22891635 and it says it fits 2015 to 2016. It also fitmy 2018. It was $44.95.

What kind of rivets did you use? My bracket came with only the sheet metal screws.

The bracket I bought came with the pop rivets. If yours didn't come with rivets you could probably go to Lowes and get them. Note: Obviously you will also need a pop rivet tool to compress the rivets.

What size drill bit did you use?

MJF, If I remember correctly it was a 1/8" drill. In any case the drill should be the same size as the pop rivet. The pop rivets come in popular sizes like 1/8", 3/16", etc.

What is the tool used at 5:08 to compress the nails? Where can I find that?

They aren't actually nails. They are Pop Rivets. You can buy a Pop Rivet Tool at Lowes Home Improvement store. It is listed as Item # 45272 Model # RH200S and cost about $20. Very hand tool to have around. I have used it on numerous projects.

@@brukkshot I don't know of any other way to compress pop rivets. The tool isn't very expensive and will probably come in handy later on.

why would you add a front plate holder in a state that doesnt require it?

It is a Disabled Veteran tag. The state of Florida provides the front tag (shown in the video). I am not required to display it but it simplifies things in parking lots where people often challenge my right to be using a disabled parking place.

The Pop Rivet tool isn't a tool you only use once in your lifetime. I have used mine numerous times to fix a multitude of things. It has been an investment that has paid off over the years. Of course if you never do anything or fix anything then you shouldn't buy one but that doesn't make the tool a "stupid invention".
