Finally got this job done yesterday. Replaced the left front one first, didn’t fix the noise and rumble, left hand side removal went rather easily. However, the right front side, done yesterday, was a seized together parts situation. The axle nut needed plenty of persuasion, with a 3/4 in drive breaker bar, extension, 34mm socket, and penetrating oil. Separating the hub-assembly from the CV axle required, as you said, lots of hammering to get the seized parts separated. Thanks again for sharing this informative how to video!

Thanks for sharing your story. Some of these are total buggers to remove! I'm glad it was useful! :)

Many thanks for sharing! Have to do this job on my 05 Vue 2.2l 5 speed manual. At 272,000 mi., the front wheel hub assemblies don’t owe anything more. Already done the back ones. They were roaring something fierce. The front replacement will hopefully quiet it all down even more. My Vue doesn’t have the ABS. Thanks again, Sir!

My 04 Saturn Vue is not giving up it's hub bearing. I even wasted money on the Hub buster and after hours of hitting it the bearing hasn't moved. I wish mine is as easy as yours
@TutorialGenius4 жыл бұрын
Easy as mine!? haha! I was hitting this for 45 mins with a hammer and chisel. It was far from easy!!! Get a chisel set from harbour freight,. its $11 with 20% coupon. They are green in color. You'll know when you see them Whack the chisel between the bearing assembly and the mount. Upgrade the chisel size each time and work your way around. It'll come off. It'll look like crap, but its dead anyway. Clean off the white stuff with a steel drill bit, anti-seize on, and install new.

@@TutorialGenius going to harbor freight for an air chisel. But I'll look for the set you mentioned. I broke a chisel already and it didn't budge it
@TutorialGenius4 жыл бұрын
@@DJMovit the pack comes with around 6-7 flat head chisels. One of mine cracked, but 6 left to work it. They are $1.75 each chisel on average. Manual chisel have more control and less fear and chance of f***ing up the mount for it. Hope the air chisel works, let me know how it goes!

Get used to these wheel bearings being a pain in the butt to remove if you live in the north. I've replaced 2 and you're gonna need a good slide hammer/sledgehammer.

Forgot to put the CV shaft axle nut back on. Thank you for the informative video. I was hoping it wasn't going to be a tough job. I have to replace both of mine on the front. How long did it take you to complete this job?
@TutorialGenius4 жыл бұрын
haha funny joke. I think the car wouldnt make it out the driveway before you realized that one. Me? Maybe an hour give or take. Depends on your tools, wear, skill, distractions, weather etc If its a nice newish car, dry climate (no rust) with no seizing and you have good tools, then its a 20-30 minute job.
