I worked for 30 yrs as an RN in a hospital. This a true story. The med room was a long narrow room with the med dispenser machines on each end. Along the wall behind us were plastic bins for each patient and various items. I was at one machine and the pharmacy guy was on the other end at the other machine. All of a sudden one of the plastic bins shot straight out and went to the floor. We just looked at each other. He said Im out of here and left me. I picked up the bin to put it back and said "Stop it Im busy."Typical nurse, right?

Yes the Brussels sprouts are in the cabbage family my French grandma called the petit Chou little cabbage she was born in 1879 wonderful woman, she bore 10 children and everyone had beautifully sewn homemade clothing and wonderful cooking! Never went without thanks to grand papa who provided so well. My grandparents taught me so many "olden" things. My grandma, after butchering, would make patties out of sausage and fry them, then pack them in a crock and cover with lard. These would taste delicious all winter long!!

Indian Summer always rears its head at the end of September and the first week of October here in New Jersey. The face cream was really interesting and might be fun to make. I would include rose water for it's lovely scent and other benefit. Mish-Mish reminds me of my Jimmy. They are very much baby boys who chatter. So sweet but they could give it a break. ( but I love my little chatty pants)

I wanted to come this weekend to the event but can't make the distance. 🥺 We're in Springfield, Illinois for two nights heading for Saint Louis on Sunday. It's just a little too far to make it this weekend. We live in southern half of Mississippi about 80 miles from the Gulf Coast. We're heading home after traveling all summer in our fifth wheel camper. We will be visiting Ste. Geniveve next week. At one point in college I had to wear a wig for a year due to hair thinning from stress [abusive relationship]. So thank you for complimenting my hair! A little tip that might help Mish when he talks to much. Just ignore him when he talks and then the minute he's quiet keep giving him pets and a little treat. It worked very well for my chatty cat, who looks very like MashMash. He's called Lord Samsons.

Try a drop or two of rose oil or what would have been known as attar of roses back then to your face cream ; which was quite common for face creams in that period and still is today. Rose Oil has especially beneficial properties for the skin as it has antiseptic, anti-bactericidal and anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce blemishes, acne scars, and dark spots, not to mention it makes using it a very pleasant experience.
