@@RunninUpThatHillh Me too! I was once forced to sit at the table with the same uneaten meal by my stepfather for THREE DAYS. He was trying to break me like a horse. Didn't work.😁I mean, if I wouldn't eat it when it was fresh, what made him think I would eat it at any stage of decay? If we WERE starving, then sure, I would have slurped it up like everyone else. But we weren't and so the exercise was pointless. Why ruin the good times (and relationships) with something so futile and awful? He didn't even finish his (Mom wasn't the best of cooks).
@RunninUpThatHillh

@@CleoHarperReturns Yes. There's also the fact that kids aren't always hungry when adults are. Right? Just cause I made dinner, doesn't mean my kids are hungry. It teaches kids to over-eat and ignore their own body signals. I get it thought, it's hard on the cook and wastes food otherwise. I was just picky. I come from a family of hunters and I just didn't wanna eat what they caught LOL! Especially when they prepped it all the time when I was around. haha!!
@CleoHarperReturns

@@RunninUpThatHillh Yeah me too! LOL I think my mom's cooking though was what caused me to choose cooking as a career. She hated meat back in the day unless it was cooked all the way to shoe leather where it no longer resembled anything bloody (or edible). Veganism etc was very uncommon back then, where we were. I thought I hated meat for most my childhood until I had a perfectly cooked rare steak; my whole world changed. I couldn't watch the prepping as a kid either but it did help prepare me for the culinary arts. I worked mostly in pastries but that didn't stop the other chefs from using my sinks to clean whole suckling pigs.🤮

When you build your house, be sure to use a lot of Simpson ties since you live in the New Madrid earthquake area. I wonder if you had bronchitis. I resorted to one of those tiny bottles of brandy to stop the coughing. It helped. Cough syrup just didn't do the job. Take lots of vitamin D, niacin, NAC etc. so you won't get anything.

Wonderful content video as always. Sorry you were ill but glad to see you are recovering. When my son was nine we took him fishing for salmon in Sebago Lake. He caught a very small fish and we told him reel it in and we will set your line again. About halfway to shore a large salmon chomped his little fish. My son was crouching on the rocks on shore so the force of the salmon almost took him head first into the lake! Luckily his step-father was quick and grabbed him before he hit the water.

Elderberry is so good for colds. It’s a Great thing to take when sick. My favorite thing is to make a strong ginger tea with honey. Helps with coughs. It’s anti-inflammatory. For breathing problems cut and dice an onion and add to chicken stock & heat with grated ginger. Helps with colds too and breathing problems. Might make your throat calm down. Something so comforting about both drinks.

Ron, James Cook didn't discover Australia. It was a Dutch navigator in 1606 called Willem Janszoon who first landed on the west coast and then Dirk Hartog in 1616 who was the second European to land on the western coast of Australia. James Cook landed on the east coast in what is now known as New South Wales in 1770 over 100 years later. The Dutch encountered arid, dry land and thought it was not fit for colonization.

Elderberry is wonderful!!! I have used dried berries for years to boil a tea. Adding some fresh ( or dried) peppermint leaf after taking off of boiling is great addition for congestion. Add the peppermint to strained elderberry tea either fresh leaves right in your mug or if using dried leaves add them directly to the berry water after it is stopped boilng , strain, I store mine in a mason jar in fridge for up to 3 days. It tastes good too. Add a bit of honey (even cold tea) and it's a tasty remedy. Happy you are feeling better! Now your body knows how to battle and win one more of those honery little germ/virus enemies! Plain Peppermit tea helps break up the gunk in lungs. I generally limit elderberry tea to 2 mugs every 24 hours..... much more than that might cause one to become "extra" regular. God bless you both and pet little MishMish!
