@Ryan C Lukather said in his book that Fergie was great live, but had trouble in the studio keeping in pitch. It took forever to get a complete song because they would have to sometimes record one line at a time over and over to get it right and the different takes would be pieced together to make a whole song.

Allthough he only got "one round" as a leadsinger of Toto, he certainly made an impact ( In my opinion). I think the "Isolation" album is one of the greatest albums in AOR history. One of my top 3 Toto albums. RIP Fergie.

I met Fergie back in 1995 when the band I was in warmed up for him in Hutchinson, Mn. Fergie was a very nice, very genuine guy, aside from being a fantastic musician/vocalist. We'll miss you, Fergie. You were a class act.

From what I have read, he struggled in the studio. Apparently, there were no hard feelings between he and the members of the band. I don't think he was a natural fit, however.

Man...he sounds as good as he did in 1985! Amazing for such a high tenor voice. Sad tho one needs to go back to '85 to revive and stay alive. That keyboard sound was DATED. Dude had serious vocal chops! This is such a crazy TOTO LP after IV...what were they thinking...great tunes...but they lost their Grammy audience and never recovered in the US. Fergie should have been a top rocker lead vocalist if he ever landed the right band. Drum fill at 4:16 was just stupid.

youre right he sounded exactly the same as he did in toto. he still had the range and the lot. he really was a true fighter. he did loads of live shows and 2 albums in his final years. its amazing how ill people can be but still can sing brilliant. just like freddie mercury did. RIP fergie.
