My son had full healthcare with prescription coverage. He was attending university and I was footing the bill. I discovered exactly how Obama planned to fund the AFA. Those of us who already had health care saw our payments and premiums skyrocket within a year and a half to the point that WE couldn't afford our healthcare coverage. It felt like we were being pushed to the point that relying on the government or doing without were our only alternatives. We didn't fall through the cracks, we were literally pushed aside.

I often wonder about how the presidency may or may not have been a pivotal moment for him in his personal development. He must have known and worked with some of those congresspeople that went all in on him for years prior to his presidency, only for many of them to essentially turn on him in a very adversarial way, likely rationalizing that none of it was _"personal"_ when politics is *very personal* - especially when every jab and jeer is public, it is not your hobby, but rather your _career_ and the way you earn your money, maintain your elite status and support your family.

Food for thought: Out of all the craziness entering 2009, I wish Obama's first goal could have been to reform Wall Street... A real Teddy Rosevelt approach where predatory investment tactics and tomfoolery with funds of the working middle class would not go unnoticed and if anything...real reform to unregulated markets and other weak points in the American economy's armor.
