do you actually use last laugh and hailstorm on frost dk? in the part u were showing sims with premade frost bl spec you had those weapons on. is using fast weapon bad for dps? i have blacksmithing mace which i want to replace but i have no luck with weapons but i do have hailstorm in bank... my other weapon is silent crusader which is fine i guess.

You generally want slow hard hitting weapons because we are spamming ability damage based on weapon damage the whole fight. I had those weapons at the time because it was phase 1 pre-raid but yeah it's not ideal. Just gotta make do with what you have til you score an upgrade

Gonna write a book to emphasize that slow weapons are essential. Rule of thumb, don’t even look at weapon DPS, just look at the weapon damage. A slow weapon is better than a fast weapon several item level “tiers” above it. For example, I just can’t get an upgrade for my Torment of the Banished offhand but it’s STILL much better than the 225 fast weapons and even edges out the 232 fast weapons I’ve been tempted to take. Every single time I’m with another frost DK that has way higher gs than I do but I’m roasting on the meters, they have fast weapons. Don’t let vanity win out, use that fuckin Ebon Blade rep sword as long as you have to Edit: most importantly, a higher ilvl fast weapon may increase your auto-attack damage, but it’s a huge cost to your Oblit damage. And I just wanna say, if you can sleep at night knowing you compromised those sweet sexy fat Oblits for some boring auto attacks, you’re no frost dk

Has there been a final decision over whether it's better to use triple Obliterate (and thus cap runic power) or rather go for double Obliterate and one Frost Strike in between? Long story short: Obliterate>all or avoid capping>Obliterate>everything else. Seems like even the pros are not sure.

Triple obliterate is the consensus based on results of thousands of iterations of sims i dont know why, i just copy people better at math than me

Double Obliterate is more flexible especially in fights with multiple add spawns (XT from Ulduar). Triple obliterate if boss will die within 5 obliterates

That is a details plugin. It's showing the action I just used. Details > settings > broadcaster tools > action tracker

Great video man, thank you. So saving Army for Bloodlust isn't worth for Frost DK? I play Unholy so am use to saving Army for Bloodlust. Also I suppose being in Unholy Presence when you summon your Ghoul isn't worth it either? Thanks!

Yeah, that is correct on all counts. It's always a DPS loss as Frost to presence swap mid-fight since it uses a rune you would rather be obliterating with. Just unholy presence pre-pull with army and then go blood pres and forget about it Same goes for AOTD, you lose too much damage casting it as Frost Spec mid-fight On a lot of my fights I don't even bother armying/unholy pressing at all (because im fat/lazy) and still parse well so it's a minor optimization regardless

@@BrianShaw23 This is a known bug that blizzard is unlikely to fix. Sometimes your army just won't do shit and it's really dumb - luckily we don't rely too heavily on it

army does very negligible damage as frost so you never want to cast it outside of prepull. You want to summon ghoul during lust though as that one gcd does ~30k damage which is more than a double crit oblit.

For those unholy's that are wondering about AOTD, our rune usage is much more important in our rotation so if we are using it on AOTD midfight we just flop off the charts because the down time until our next oblit and our diseases are back up is gross. The ability only does around 2% of our overall dps in the end

It depends on the fight length and lust window but using only armor pots is fine and the difference between the two is negligible even post nerf

Yes, obliterating is number 1 prio, the sooner you oblit the sooner your runes come up to oblit again. The longer the fight the more oblits this will average out to Spending rp on frost strike to avoid overcap is second prio though to be clear

If I prepull most of the time my army of the dead doesnt start attacking the boss. My AotD ghouls either sit there doing nothing for the whole duration or wait itleast 10-15secs. How I can fix it?

It's a known bug that unfortunately just happens sometimes if you're unlucky. Make sure you have /petattack macro'd into your abilities but besides that your options are raise dead, sapper, take damage, taunt boss or pray

@@snowgoatclassic the /petattack macro is a farse, doesn't work for guardians. Player needs to take any sort of dmg for the army to start attacking or you cast a ghoul after triple obliterating. The 1 summoned ghoul some reason will trigger the army into attacking

id say trapweaving is harder than DK. Frost dk theres no positioning requirements or hitbox learning curve for every boss.

this video is total bate. 95 average pars here and theres so many things you missed that isnt going to get someone even into the 90s. Army is bugged pre pull, no offered solution in the video No mentiom of macros No mention of engineering being essential No mentiom of bombs off global lazy and disliked for me but hey least you got my comment and engagement metric

It's bugged but worth pressing because it still works sometimes. as for my macros, I have them all in a separate video with a google document and every weakaura and add-on I use engineering and bombs etc - this isn't a beginners guide, this is for people trying to learn more advanced tips on frost. If you need a youtube video to know engineering is BIS then you're the wrong demographic for this video anyway ty for watching regardless
