I forgot to cover PvP talents because nothings really changed with them but for anyone curious you always want to play Dead of Winter and Strangulate no matter what. For your 3rd PvP talent you're going to be swapping between: - Bloodforged Armor into Physical DPS that you cant kite - Delirium into Evokers and Melees that you CAN kite or if you want uptime you can play it into mobile classes like Warlock or Mage. - Spellwarden into full Magic Damage teams to have a shorter CD AMS or to be able to use it on your teammates. Some other choices that can sometimes be good: - Shroud of Winter can be great when playing with a Ranged DPS vs other Ranged DPS classes - Dark Simulacrum is a great tool into Spell Casters if you can pull it off and steal important CD's

For blitz I’ve been taking one point in ice breaker instead of taking shattering blade. I wish they didn’t nerf shattering blade so much in pvp. They should bring it back up to 100% dmg. Why do you need exactly 13% crit for DW? Also I am little confused about the 2H talents (based on what you also said in the newer video for 2H) I know you can decide between Shattering Blade and Smothering Offense. But I also saw taking Smothering Offense, Icy Death Torrent and The Long Winter instead of Icebreaker (Rank2) and Hyperpyrexia, so I dont really understand what should be the deciding factor between all of these options. i would definitely recommend dual wield for a beginner! 2H is a ton of fun but definitely takes a lot of experience to pull it off in most arena brackets. dual wield is easier to play and can play more comps with less synergy required from the team. i used the addon sexymap and customized the "rogue" pre-set! for the mouse its an addon called CursorTrail and i used the "ring of bones" pre-set.

yes u definitely could! deathbringer with dual wield is a good way to give u some extra burst without losing all of your sustain damage. dual wield can burst pretty hard too with that build so definitely give it a shot. frost dk is in a good spot right now so we have at least 4 viable build options currently so play what u enjoy the most :) stoneskin and crusader is a great alternative to razorice + shattering blade, its a more ramp up and sustain focused option.

Since we only burst when we have our CC combo up, meaning Blinding Sleet at 1 min cd, why do we need 45 secs Pillar? Wouldnt that point be better somewhere else? We always sit on it until sleet comes up anyways.

Great question! since the introduction of The War Within's talent rework it's generally not worth waiting for Blinding Sleet to send our burst anymore, for most comps at least. With tools like Abom limb, Death and Decay slow, Frostwyrm's Fury or whatever CC your partner's have to help you setup now you generally dont need to wait. Being able to burst every 45 seconds is a tremendously important upgrade for our spec in PVP because frost plays purely around Pillar so having to wait an entire minute was a big issue in frost's core gameplay. Now dont get me wrong u can still wait for the blinding sleet if u choose to, it's not bad as long as u are playing a comp with strong 1 minute goes and u are all coordinating a burst around that... if not well then for most situations u cant go wrong with 45 second CD Pillar!

In case you don't know shattering blade is significantly nerfed in pvp. Plus it takes your razorice stacks off of the target so I don't think it's ever worth playing.

that is true but its wrong to say its never worth playing, if u are playing dual wield u lack a strong finisher that actually hits for a large number, losing a small amount of obliterate dmg for 1 global in return for a 65% stronger frost strike is 100% worth it. there are other reasons and i could go on for hours why its a good talent but im streaming right now so just take my word for it.

yeah theres a big difference, DW has a lot more sustain damage and a stronger rotation. u get more procs and longer pillar of frost. 2H gets a lot more burst damage because it gives u 30% extra obliterate damage, but u lose a lot of sustain damage so u become very burst focused.

Hey bro! its a common thing people get confused about, and yeah definitely some people talking about all haste nonsense... Dual Wield requires a certain amount of crit for the rotation to function properly, then the lonely winter pillar extension comes in and u want some crit for that as well. So to be clear, 13% crit is kind of like the sweet spot for getting procs and also getting value out of the pillar extension. Which means you want to get this amount in PVP combat and then once u have that, you get as much haste as you can. Haste and crit are both great for Dual Wield frost dk but crit eventually caps off in terms of usefulness whereas haste's value goes on forever. which is why u need that 13% then you go as much haste as you can realistically get!

I agree Deathbringer is more fun too. You can also try a 2H Rider build since Rider is generally eaier, or you can try a DW Deathbringer build, u would play the same General and Frost talents for each and just use the same Hero Talents for each.

pillar is such an important ability its generally better to have more control over when u press it, frost is not a spec with many keybinds so if u could get a dedicated keybind for it i think u wont regret it, u could still do it however and it would still work (most of the time)

Haste is very important right now for frost in pvp because with low haste u will usually run out of runes during your burst and wont be able to press obliterate which can stop your burst completely. so haste helps withe rune regeneration and it also scales better for burst damage as you will be able to squeeze in more obliterate procs in the small burst window! Mastery is good too but just make sure u arent too low on haste, if you really want to prioritize mastery then try to get at least 12% haste in pvp!

As Flarkness mentioned in his guide - its not a damage tool, it's a herding tool.. when you feel you'll have a hard time to keep them together for your burst, if they have disengages or when your teammate may ruin your blind early before the dragonboi/ winters stun pops off, that's when you want to abom.. if u know ull get a clean setup or be able to have them stacked - it's a dead global, if you think they may be able to run away from you - pop it before/ after the blind just to make sure they stay stacked

great question, it's not the best global to press on your big burst, but if you dont have blinding sleet and are gonna do a pillar of frost setup, it can be good to hit abomination limb right before or right after u remorseless winter. it can help make the go cleaner when u dont have the tools to do so. this is important when playing 45 second pillar CD. dont stress too much about trying to fit abom limb in your setup, when ur comfortable with frost dk u will just know when to press it. some personal advice is i usually dont use it on the first setup at all unless something goes wrong, i'll usually save it for my 2nd go.

Yeah i was playing that as well for a bit on the beta and its not bad, plays very similar but u are a little tankier with less on demand burst damage. stoneskin is better for ramp up + slightly tankier. I think razorice + shatter is VERY important though because frost strike is ur main damage source as DW and a frost strike with 5 stack shatter does more damage than a 2H obliterate proc. definitely try it out, i think its worth it for Rider. Both versions of the build are super strong though i think shatter just gives u some more finishing power with 1.2 mil + frost strikes so u can land kills when playing vs healer comps.

nope, i would play 13% crit (in pvp combat) and then with the rest i would go full haste. its very important for the double 1 hand build's rotation to have some crit. it will give u a lot more procs and longer pillar of frost durations!
