Great video and appreciate the gearing section the most. Now, for the left side of the tree, would you still run permafrost even on 2H? I PvP a lot with a Paladin friend, so I don't see much value in Gloom Ward with the 15% more absorb. What do you think?

fantastic question. I don't see it doing nearly as much over a long game as with all the dual-wield auto attack synergies. I would probably drop it for even leech or the dnd slow or some other situational thing. gloom ward if you play with a priest or some absorbs from the various healer hero talents.

I think frost as a whole plays with windwalker, fury, possibly arms, possibly dh, and even something like destro. it's hard to tell which comp each build prefers until we have a good amount of time in war within season 1 to test it out.

so you mean like have the same gear you would use for unholy? absolutely would be the haste/mastery variant that does not go into crit at all. unfortunately, unholy uses 2h and ZERO crit so all the dw versions will be the only separate gear set if you prefer them.

Hey I enjoyed your guide thoroughly, despite the massive amounts of damage I feel that I am worthless in terms of damage outside of the bursts when using the 2h build. I also have trouble staying alive even in a 1v1 situation, if my burst doesn't get them I will die pretty fast. I am new to DK in general so perhaps I am doing wrong, do you have any tips? I try to use death strike obviously and lichborne + death coil.

Obliterate is baseline Physical, but when empowered by Killing Machine (passive talent) it always crits and turns into Frost Dmg

nah definitely not, 10% damage to a talent that was 3% of your dmg won't change anything.

actually surprisingly no, the endless winter build literally fits right into frost dk's role in battleground blitz. it can aoe stun twice, it has crazy on demand dmg no matter where it goes, it can win any team fight with setups or help kill fcs and orb carriers with quick burst windows. it's actually awesome.

Last time I played a frost DK (or any DK for that matter) was back in Cata when frost dual wield was absolutely Zug-Zug fun sustain dmg, pre-nerf anyway. It's very reminiscent of that old spec.

nah you can absolutely put all modifiers together, cause that's when you would want to do them anyway. I don't personally planning on using the breath build but you would ABSOLUTELY wanna swifty it because it's all apart of the 1 shot combo during your aoe stun go.

absolutely! either or. if you're feeling rune starved (which for some reason I haven't yet, despite them lowering our resource gen) then swap to murderous. otherwise, you can get a lil extra chip damage.

the only way to stack reaper's mark quick as 2h is breath, and I have been begging to get off the all in play style for 6 years so it's not really my cup of tea. but you can effectively just press 2h breath and use it during the aoe stun and ramp up fast.
