@Allen Wilson the way comic characters work is they are always changing, sometimes into variations that are wholly unrecognizable to what they originally were intended as. That's how comics work. To put a cap on the characters and say they can't do things or be beaten by people is to put a cap on the writers creativity and vision, and that is the exact opposite of the entire point of comics as a whole. The way you want them to be is boring as shit, and I do not envy you. In fact, here's an example for you; laufey devotes his frost giant manpower into gathering the infinity stones and the gauntlet in an attempt to destroy Oden and asgard once and for all. Travels to earth to gather the final stone, has a run in with juggernaut who beats him around, playing with him more than anything since he is stronger than a frost giant, but ultimately fails at stopping him from getting the final stone, either because he didn't know, or didn't care. With the newfound power of the infinity gauntlet laufey proceeds to manhandle juggernaut like a bitch because that's what I want to happen in my story and I'm the current writer so I have the final say. So yeah, juggernaut very well can be beaten by a frost giant. He could be beaten by a damn wicker chair if the writer wanted him to. That wouldn't make for a good story at all, but I'm not here arguing about whether this story is good or not. Just that it's a thing that happens in comics all the time and people just need to accept that. That's why these are usually one off stories, marvel is already aware that this isn't the direction they want to go with their characters in the main universe, they don't need the fans to tell them what their characters can and can't do since their characters can and can't do anything marvel wants. And lastly, depowering an OP character to avoid the question of why he didn't just end the fight in 5 seconds isn't spitting in the face of the original creator, it's allowing your story to continue unhindered while still featuring the characters you want to be in it. Yeah, the original juggernaut could have killed the frost giant with no issues and ended the story on the first page, but why the fuck would the writer do that?

@@paulcox2447 Yes it does. For example, normally when he's on a group like the X-Men or Thunderbolts his relationship with Cytorraks is compromised because of it. Why Hyperion was able to bust him up when he was on the Thunderbolts. It was instituted first when he joined the X-Men the first time I believe, and Cytorraks was pissed because of it, so he nerfed him. It's been the standard ever since. In general, anytime Juggs isnt making long term plans at wreaking havock, Cytorraks is pissed.
