I'm surprised to hear you say you think the lone wolf build would be better. My problem with that build is that Flanking Strike is both a weapon and pet attack, which means that Flanking Strike and Lone Wolf are basically working against one another. Thoughts?

Flanking strike is a great ability that does 100% weapon damage and increases damage done by next raptor strike & Mongoose bite by 10% stacking up 3 times. Raptor has the ability to reset cooldown on Flanking. There I removed the pet from the tooltip :D

Whats the rotation then for MM Hunters with Chimera Shot? Are you using Aimed Shot afterall?

You keep serpent sting up. Auto shot/Chimera/Auto/Multishot/auto/Chimera. Don't think we need aimed into the rotation. But we will see in the future.

Give it time. It's only the first week. We still figure out pets/spells/runes. But it seems like Melee + MM is king for now.

The BM spec should be up there for grinding. been leveling recently the hunt with BM spec, 30+ now. Mobs die like flies.

Good Video, For Melee Hunter: Like someone else said Bloodlash Bow should proc off melee hits making it an extra +50AP on proc for us with no ranged weaving making it much better than other ranged weapons. Also, Instead of Forest Stalker's Bracers (22 AP) you can use Experimental Aim Stabilizers (29 AP) and instead of Skullduggery Waistband (20 AP) for melee, you can use Darkvision Girdle (24 AP + 1% hit) even with the 15% extra agility from Lightning Reflex's, the raw AP from these items should be higher than if you stacked agility and the difference in crit is only 0.50%. Also the link to the Melee Hunter Armory does not link correctly unlike the BM/MM links.

It might. Not even sure on what char to invest time. If I level a rogue for the new muti spec it might get nerfed until i reach 40. So I might stick to Mage/Hunter combo.

also for melee hunter builds you will be wanting the PVP epic bow from Bloodmoon event, the 50+ strength proc can proc on melee attacks so its quite big

I was looking at the PVP bow from stv is chance to proc 50 str for 15 seconds. If it procs in average like once /minute that means around 12 STR. We need to see the proc rate.

Flanking strike where your weapon dmg of you And your PET matters, it's useless to take lone Wolf... Guess right.. You got jo PET to activate lone Wolf Rune... So Flanking strike plus lone Wolf is useless... Lone Wolf only works for range gameplay

Not true, Flanking Strike is still good without a pet. While indeed you don't get a bonus pet attack out of it, you still get your own bonus attack + the extra damage buff on Raptor Strike (up to +30%). It's not optimal but far from useless. Also, what else would you take as a melee hunter in this slot? lol

Flanking is two hits with a pet, 1 attack without but is still usable, its just another 100% instant swing ability. Lone Wolf also is 30% for all damage, not just ranged damage.

Don't worry the Melee hunters are going to be top dps, its not copium its a reality also the epic bow from the STV event is going to be better since its effect is "on equip".

The problem might be that Rogues use Energy, Warriors use Rage, hunters might run out of mana. But I'm curious to see how this turns out.

KC will never be a useful rune, and has a long CD. It's only a total of +120% pet ability damage every minute. Absolute peanuts. Also for the Melee build, the STV PvP bow will be BIS, as the +50STR triggers off melee attacks too.

Seems like the bot procs 50 str for 15 seconds. If the proc is higher than once/minute it might not be that great. We need to test it out.

This is complete speculation, but I gather that Blizz is pushing melee hunter really hard this phase, the bow is the sole good option in our PvP rewards, and they've said they're experimenting with this type of weapon (refering to this bow in specific over twitter). Taking all that into account, if the buff is deemed suboptimal even for melee hunters, I'd wager Blizz would buff its proc chance sooner rather than later.@@Frostadamus
