Heyo! Two things. Relationships allow you to have access to those powerful abilities, and as far as I understand there are absolutely no downsides (apart from slightly boosting the faction). Also! Those rally's end after a fixed amount of time after the relationship leaves the gold section, and start a set amount of time after the relation enters and stays in the gold section. So there's an incentive to supporting a faction and maintaining that support for a while.

I really like that you aren't locked into version of each tech. The choice of what to research is still difficult early on because research time is so valuable but it gives you something valuable to do late game.
@GubbugАй бұрын
I don't know how it workds on a 'flat' surface, like the in game map, but Hexagons when tesselated over a spherical surface usually have to accommodate a pentagon somewhere to finish the complete tesselation of the surface. If you look at a soccer ball that has its hexagonal cells, you'll find one pentagon on the surface of the ball too!
@XerofytАй бұрын
Hexagons can tesselate a plane. I think the game is using a Voronoi tiling, with tile centers using slight, random offsets from the shifted rows of a hexagonal tiling. That will produce mostly hexes, with the occasional other shape as observed. Hard to be entirely sure though.
@MrCatofdoomАй бұрын
neat
@GubbugАй бұрын
@@Xerofyt This seems more than probable, especially since we've seen at least one pentagon and one septagon throughout the map. It could also just be that different shapes are shoehorned in when the map terrain makes it difficult to fit a hexagon.
@s2wuolf508Ай бұрын
Probably just the generator in the central hub, the hexagons and pentagons making up the central hub are just hidden

I feel like Adaptation is straight up the most powerful one to go for, like it's technologies are so strong why wouldn't you focus it?
@hedgehog3180Ай бұрын
Well you need Progress to get access to deep resources.
@rsk-1337Ай бұрын
Yup heat demand management is super important on higher difficulty. Adaptation and merit (except the heat pipe law in equality which is one of the best laws in the game) and tradition are the strongest with adaptation a clear #1

Although I agree the Rule laws are probably powerful, I think the difficulty is getting them passed maybe? Seems like it needs more set up and care. Though you did make it look very easy managing discontent for extreme laws in FP1.

After doing some testing my end, I don't think excess production wastes the node. I did a test when capped out on coal and wasn't using up any with the generator. I had it running stating it would make something like +400 but the nodes total remaining wasnt budging. I think when you checked it was still taking out what you expenditure is, or this only worked for me because I had no coal expenditure

It certainly warrants more investigation.

Hubs are something you should plan for, but won't be needed early on, as they take up a TON of workforce or heating (or both). Also, the Workforce reduction from the hub is 15% at 3 blips, which is pretty substantial if you have the heat to handle it.

Tried out not smoking the Bohemians on a second game. Turns out that final bonus to relations is pretty useful, it's just a shame that they don't really provide anything else too useful that the foragers don't already provide.

I think you can do a loop of materials from a refurbishing composite factory to a charcoal making to coal then through a coal liquefied and back into the refurbished for infinite resources over time although this is very expensive and worker intensive for it's output.

Depending on your society, you can get a few more factions; for a merit-based society you can get Servants, which is basically a workforce that are treated as slaves, they work for no pay, and you can even increase their workload which will quickly work them to death. They also have 0 political power.
