Well, we can understand why some huge companies don't want to take risks. Some decisions feel and actually are safer for them - we can respect that. But as an indie dev studio which wants to create meaningful experiences - we not only need to take some risk. We love to do it! It's exciting, it's creative, it's important. Frostpunk short guide for a start up on Endless or on the ‘New Home’ Scenario. 1. In the Beginning, Coal is king, So is steel and So is wood, Make sure most of your workforce is set to gather Coal and set the remainders on steel and Wood, But DON’T set down Engineers, They are way too valuable this early in the game and as they can staff certain buildings that workers and Children (Other than through a Law that raises efficiency) You need a fully stocked Medical post by the end of the day and a Workshop, Staff both, When you can, Research Mechanical calculators 1 and then research the Bunkhouse, By this time, You should also probably think about getting the Coal Thumper - At this early on, Sign a law for radical treatments. 2. By the end of the next work day you should roughly have around 300 steel, And 300 wood from gathering, Depending on your difficulty settings today may be when you start noticing people are hungry, You don’t need to pay attention to that at the moment if needs be you can keep them going for a couple of days, Anyway, With 300 steel and Wood you should be able to build a Bunkhouse for everyone, (Build them right next to the Generator for heat, As you can’t spare coal for a Steam hub right now, If you have enough left over place down one Coal thumper or two if you do have enough, Once you have both, Set down a Gathering post between the both of them and staff it full of workers who are free from working on gathering (Don’t use Engineers) Sign a law for Care house and build one. 3. By day 3 the Temperature will drop to -30’C, At this temperature if there are any piles still left that your collecting you will notice eventually that some of them get frostbite and need amputations, And you will get an event that asks whether you should amputate someones leg or not, Do so, And then immediately sign the Prosthetics law to reduce the amount discontent that the Amputee’s may cause in the future - Use the Workshop to research the Saw mill 4. By day four all of your piles should be gone, And the Temperature may fall to -40’C which is when things start getting dangerous, By now you should research a Steamworks and focus on your resources as people ill most likely die at this point in time then any other, Afterwards, Research heaters, And turn them on in everyone of your workplaces including the gathering post. Sign a Law declaring that all kids should work or be put in Houses, The Choice is yours - but having them not working only decreases efficiency in the long haul as you may need extra hands for Menial labour but it will cause discontent which isn’t something you want. 5. On this day you should be set to sign the Graveyard or Body pitt law (Dependent on what you want) and after this you should be able to carry on the game.

But still - if you have never played TWOM before - Frostpunk has A LOT to offer, too. It's a totally new game. It is bigger and more complex. You will have to make choices and deal with them - and prepare to change your habits in order to survive.

11 bit studios cool...would like it to be more like this war of mine than anything else..the micro management really sucks me in...felt like a good old games like jagged alliance 2..would like to see that much characters in todays game :P
