So glad you all survived that nightmare. I have sailed in the Phuket region for 7 years and heard many stories of moorings breaking. Its Thailand and very unlikely moorings are monitored or maintained by the authorities. Some of my MUST-HAVES every time. A standby 3700 Gallon per hour emergency pump, and a secondary means to power it (Honda generator) 2 x anchor alarms both set every night, one on the Ipad and 1 on the laptop (early heads up if your drifting) Second anchor ready to go with 100 meters of rode. Can use to assist winching off the rocks. And lastly, avoiding moorings when possible. Awesome episode and Nandji lives to sail another day.

Thanks for sharing all that raw footage. It is awesome how the two of you managed this situation and got your boat off the reef. Bonita's initial anguish was understandable but the reassuring words from you helped keep the situation under control. Then her ceaseless bailing was a superhuman effort that I think few people could have done. That bought time for you to figure out what to do and to repair the leaks as best you could. Her suggestions, at least the ones on the video were good and i imagine there were many more that didn't get filmed. i'm glad you and Nandji survived and look forward to more videos from you.

I still feel as I did back when this originally happened to you guys - that the captains of all those other boats, who stood around watching your struggles without offering even the smallest bit of assistance, should have their licenses revoked for an entire year! I just can’t understand their unwillingness to help.

I totally agree, I heard them when it happened and how disappointed they were with the other yachties, but they haven't made a big thing of it which just goes to show their integrity. I have always thought that if a yacht was in distress all the other people in the boating community would be swarming to help. I have come off my mooring and have had my little boat wrecked and I had strangers jumping into freezing cold water to help me. Wish we could be naming and shaming them.

I hit a ghost net, whale or shipping container (it never broke the surface, hit the hull or the keel) 3 days from land, it ripped the rudder out with part of the hull and that was a very big hole, I was in panic mode and made many bad decisions (including jumping in the water tied to the boat). Only later after I had spoken to search and rescue where they evaluated my situation for me and told me "it was an unsafe situation but not yet life threatening calm down, prepare to abandon, then figure out how you can stay afloat longer" and I was told by them what vessels were in my area (I never checked the AIS or asked on the radio). I calmed down after that as it would not be long in the raft, had my go bag and calm seas with boats heading my direction in case help was needed. In the calm state figured the engine had a water pump too so I ran the sea strainer pickup into the bilge and jammed so much stuff in the hole and locker I almost needed the engine seacock hooked up again and ended up reaching shore 5 days later sailing by drogue and sail position and motoring at night for the bilge pumps and charging batteries (as well as the motor water pump). Also I was checked up on by several boats including one very welcome bottle of french wine from a french couple. Even without the boys help Nandji was in good hands, she may have just ended up on a beach for more glass once you formed a plan and found more leaks. Good luck with the rest of your adventures, a strong boat gives you more confidence. I always help with supplies or labour if someone is in need and I had other sailors, fishing vessels and container ships willing to pick me up if needed.

This reminds me of the importance of also having an anchor drag alarm system/setup. Might have given you some advanced warning that the mooring had come adrift, perhaps in time before you had gone up on the reef or were to deep into it.

You guys are the legends! Great job saving your lady! I don't agree that it was luck - You were right the first time - the actions you took in the first hours are what dictated your good outcome. Congrats and now to stay safe and heathy so that you can make that big crossing!

You two were lucky because you made your own luck with your damage control skills and very positive thinking. Be proud of your selves one heck of a job.

You should both be proud, what I saw was two competent sailors systematically making decisions and working as a team to save their boat. Not a lot of couples would keep their heads and work together as you both did. I would sail anywhere with you. Cheers Dave

Far out guys that was brutal to watch and man Bonita you are a legend and i am so impressed with how you guys both worked together under all that stress and figured out a way to save Nandji . In regards to the other sailers if they did hear your stress call and chose to not come and help than they are the dirt bags of the sea and Karma bites back hard. So glad your up and running and safe looking forward to the next adventures.

.....WoW .... that is a night that no-one wants to experience ...... Bonita your being vocal at the beginning was just all the thoughts going through your head spilling out and as Josh pointed out it resulted in you coming up with good ideas to the deal with things in the moment ..... you two rock as a team ..... what an episode, very well put together ... thoughts on a a high volume manual bilge pump ...... onwards and upwards ....... never stop dreaming, just dream bigger .... have fun be safe, save our oceans .....

Godspeed Sailing Nandji ! Many stories from Alaska losing engine or anchorage then running aground under cold hard gales ! Be safe and sane out there folks especially fatigued ! Sanity kicked in @10:00 in patch up any incoming water holes ! Wherever we are, the weather conditions always win ! Yep Lucky Bastards out there in the night ! Long keel drug into the sand, stayed trapped upright, Whew ! God bless the Thai Rangers that helped ! Thailand is beautiful place but can be treacherous under the cross monsoons Andaman and the Gulf !

"On the plus side, it's BBQ night at the marina tonight." Pretty much sums up the spirit and resilience of Nandji 🤙
