Absolutely love your videos. I'm a dual national, born UK of UK parents (RAF WWII) and arrived US in 1949. Godfather still doing well in the Cotswolds. First time I saw one of the trucks, I was convinced it's a Liverpool outfit. Southampton is my birthplace and childhood home of my father. I've observed that the your crews use hp water exclusively(?). Several of the US drain fanatics (mostly NYC types) use mechanical devices. Can you share pros and cons? Best to all. Larry Ford

Yep, we had a little discussion on one of the videos about that. A friend of mine is a plumber down in Southampton, his main source of business right now is putting showers into older homes. He has started offering jetter services as well as he noticed a rise in the number of blockages. While having a chat on line with him I mentioned that in US we don't take near as many baths, we take showers and how I used to take a bath at least every other day (quick shower on the no bath days) and the amount of water it must save......Then it dawned on both of us. A UK bath holds about 40 gallons of water, but are only filled 3/4 of the way, so call it 30 gallons. The plumbing from the bath tub can flow around 10 gallons a minute, for 3-4 minutes, you end up with the pipes getting flushed with a good amount of water every couple of days. Water weights 8lbs per gallon, a blockage in the making is going to get hit hard by that type of weight and clear, from a shower, no where near the volume.

@@lvthud if u go look at the other videos i will say 99 % cause of blockages is due to wet wipes or recycled toilet paper, the amount of water in a toilet bowl is enough to flush away the poo,but to many wet wipes are being used i think,

Another thing that causes blockages in the U.k. is lack of ventilation on each plumbing item sink,bath,shower etc waste pipework in America everything needs its own vent,we used to do the same in the 50's/60's but for some reason the regs changed.

@@mickobyobrien2650 in USA regs have also changed,as far i know u not allowed to put in a u bend anymore on any bath or basin,here on youtube is a video about it,thats why i mention it, i grew up in South Africa,, before 1994 it hardly ever happened to get a blocked drain only when tree roots blocked, but after Mandela took over in 1994 and the ANC government took over things have gone so down that now blocked drain is a daily story,raw sewerage running down the streets, open drain due to black people stealing the drain covers and now all the rubish falls down the manholes causing drains to block,

A simple two-step process. First they install the sewage pipe without thinking about the land boundary, then they install the fence without thinking about the sewage line.

For those that were wondering (because I was) Sewage is the matter that flows through the sewer system and Sewerage IS the sewer system. Just found that out today. I just thought it was a typo but it's literally two different things.
