That first job. If I was the owners I'd be getting the builders back in, to put the slope they have created pointing the other way, to get water away from the house because that is a damp issue waiting to happen. I'd also be asking them to find the Interceptor they've cemented over!

My wife uses wipes responsibly. She keeps a small waste basket with a plastic liner next to the stool and just drops them in when she's done with it. Nothing goes in the toilet except human waste and toilet paper. All she needs to do is pull out the liner, tie a knot in the top, and put it in the outside garbage bin when it needs to be emptied. People are plain lazy and stupid. You can buy a cheap diaper bucket and liners for about $10-$20 instead of paying ten times that for an unblocking. In our area of the U.S., the cheapest main line unblocking I've seen advertised is $95. It goes UP from there.

Another great video from the drain dream team - did you ever try the turning the left-handed glove inside out to make a right-handed one? As for the concreted over manhole, I wonder whether a simple metal detector, even a kids one, could help to detect where it is, just a thought. Keep 'em coming guys. 👍

As someone who live in America, i never understood why they have open trenches and pits/wells where septic/sewage runs through your yard/garden, as you call it... Here our systems are closed off except for roof top vents. I can just imagine the smells you must get near you doorways 😢. Also our plumbing runs threw the house and directly below forst line, no outdoor exposed drains.

Jem, can I ask how the worm jetter works in term of movement? You would think that with the pressure it fires the jet out you would assume the head would want to push backwards away from the jet but the opposite occurs, I'm no physics master but is this witchcraft? Have a great week next week lads.
@mrlister2000

There is a hole at the front of the nozzle, but also a series of holes at the back of it too. Water at 3000psi, is forced through the front of the nozzle to blast a hole through the blockage (like drilling a hole in wood for eg), whilst the jets at the back force the nozzle along the pipe, through the hole created by the "worm" and once through it then forces the blockage backwards and out of the pipe. Does that make sense?
@chrisharris5497
@chrisharris5497 2 жыл бұрын

Small jets like these Van Packs will probably only have rear facing jets, which blast the water backwards against the walls of the pipes, thus propelling the jetting head forward. (Similar principle to a rocket, but with water.) They're designed for 'popping' blockages and cleaning of small diameter pipework. If you move up to the serious stuff, lorry mounted jetters, you are talking higher pressures and much more flow, with a wider variety of nozzles available for serious cleaning of bigger pipework. Rootcutter, spinning jets and the 'Warthog' can carry out some serious cleaning, but are equally able to cause serious injury if care isn't taken in operation!
