@@notenoughtreble As always there are exceptions. As a bass player (electric guitar variety, although I own at acoustic one too) I imagine it's just too higher of a pitch for me? I do not play the double bass. But I may do. Lack of frets scare me.

This gave me some great insight. I realized that there's SO MANY PEOPLE behind everything we hear. Personally, I didn't really think about it much because I couldn't see these People. But it's also admirable that they're willing to give the spotlight to someone elsee while they're supporting. ANDQ HELL ARE THEY GOOD.

Thats what it would seem like lol. Oboe has an enormous amount of back pressure that the player experiences when playing. He is actually exhaling excess air at the end of that note not inhaling.

As an former oboe player that’s actually quite normal for us to look like we’re dying while playing, but in reality what he’s actually doing is keeping those 2 notes he plays steady and keep the transition between them smooth. Oboe takes a lot of air just, especially when you’re using vibrato because we produce our vibrato through our stomach instead of our throats like flutes and saxophones. So when you are playing 2 long notes like that that have to be incredibly smooth bc you are the feature instrument there, you have to take a huge intake of breath before playing it bc those 2 notes cannot be separated (meaning there’s a gap in between the sound of the 2 notes). This man did a great job, and he had a great ambusher (pretty sure I spelt that wrong lol, but it’s the way he’s playing and the firmness of his lips around the reed, the best ambushers produce the best sounds out of an oboe) and his notes were incredible, they were smooth and the vibrato was subtle but pretty. What he was doing at the end, although he looked like he was dying was just letting out all the excess air
@jaxxrr
@jaxxrr 4 жыл бұрын
@@desireer1050 interesting, @Danny Thibodeaux yes I know he's exhaling, that's why I said he could not wait to breathe (in). edit: holy f. that comment is 6 years old :))

Pretty sure it was the violins, because (according to traditional orchestra seating), the "violinists" were in the violin section. The violas are generally adjacent to cellos, not across from them

The strings and probably a flute or some sort of wind instrument kicks in around the time when Menzel sings the first words, and there are practically a fanfare from the moment where Elsa starts creating the palace. The person who taught is a professional musician, he told us that they only get about 2 minutes to look through all of there music, then they play it once, and then record. I find it amazing that they only sightread this once before they recorded this.

Holly Lockhart Yea, but it's kinda odd since most of the songs don't have a defined tempo. Maybe that's why there's a rough cut of the movie playing in the background. So that the conductor can see have a better grasp on the slightest tempo changes the music makes. It would've been way harder if the only thing guiding the orchestra was the recorded voice.
@pipeline.soundstage
@pipeline.soundstage 9 жыл бұрын
Andre Isidro all music on films has defined tempo. it's not like concert music that you just read "allegro" and you conduct what you think allegro tempo is! in Films you have a BPM in every single song. That bpm is synched with a timecode so everything is synched in the movie. So the conductor don't see the movie to get faster or slower the tempo. They have a click track so conductor and musicians can hear the tempo and changes of tempo. Also in the screen with the rough cut of the movie you can see the measures change and the speed of bpm to get a better idea. Let's say that the rough cut helps to get a better idea of Dynamics rather than tempo.
