I had one where the A/C compressor wouldn't engage. There could be similar problems to the other relays as well. Anyway the compressor wouldn't engage. The problem was the solder joints to the compressor relay where cracked from normal wear and tear. All you have to do is resolder the joint. While your in there you can make sure there are not other cracks to the other joints. It's not hard to take apart and fix it.

Just an fyi, I have a '94 GT and the CCRM and bracket is located between the antifreeze reservoir and serpentine belt. There's two bolts under the front plastic cover and one visible through the top of the reservoir to take the whole bracket and CCRM out. You'll need a 10mm and 8mm socket for the plug/pin connect and the bracket and a 7/32nds socket to get the CCRM off of the bracket. Check this location before jacking/supporting your pony and taking the wheel and fender guards off. Will save you tons of wasted time/effort.

It’s not likely a malfunction. Some cars have timers like this, many turbocharged cars as well to keep oil circulating so it does not boil and burn staying in one spot. If you find a place that does dyno tuning they can usually adjust settings like that.

Hey buddy... I was fixing my cars rusted floor pans on the drivers side and when I finished doing all of that I put everything back in seat etc... And when I wanted to start my car up again nothing happened... I changed my fuel pump, filter, Alternator, MAF, FPDM, and still nothing... Then I jumped the fuel pump from the back with another car battery and it put fuel in the rail and my car started right away... But the car will not start if I do not do that... Now on the drivers side of the car on the floor, there is a big wiring harness wrapped around in a black wrap that passes... Do you know if this harness has anything to do with a fuel wire or anything ? I think I might have pinched or accidetally cut a wire... Thankx ! By the way im Danny also haha :)

Here's my testament/problem. 98 mustang GT I drove in the rain and forgot to take my CAI off and replace it with the short RAM, not only that, but both my fender wells are trashed and completely removed. Long story short, the car started stalling so I turned it off and checked the filter, spark plugs, and plug banks for any excess water. Sure enough the filter was wet, and some water got in. Not much, as I used a vacuum and straw to get in and suck whatever water might have got in. Wiped everything down dry, changed the oil, coolant, and dried out the intake manifold/piping. The engine cranks, but wont start. Normally when I have the key in the ON position, I hear the fuel pump priming, but now I don't. So I diagnosed the DTC codes with my SCT handheld, and came to find the p1260 code show up. Could the CCRM be the problem? Because I can't seem to find anything else for a solution besides reprogramming the keys
@jonas4jonas42 жыл бұрын
Probably got water into the motor. Have you checked your oil lately and if so does it look like chocolate milk. If so there is definitely water in the motor. You will have to change your oil. If not, as soon as it fires it will blow a hole in the side of the block (I learned the hard way). Also disconnect your fuel injectors and coils/distributor and pull all spark plugs. Crank it with those disconnected to get any water out that may be trapped. Good luck! 👍

So my 2004 Mach with 85,000 miles has died theft warning light came on car turns over but act like its out of gas had to tow it to Ford. The Ford dealership said they can not even hook up a computer to it to read anything. Car turns over but theft being on wont crank is the reason to get a reading. So they replaced the key thinking chip was bad. Still nothing now on to the CCRM module 3 to 5 days to come in to Ford. Then if that still does not give them a reading for the car on to the main computer. Where does it end. $140.00 for the new key CCRM module around $340.00. i suspect this is the problem on my son's '98 Mustang (3.8). @dannyjohnsonsgarage3 жыл бұрын
It’s possible. However I was able to start my car with starter fluid and it would also run until I turned it off and it was the fuel pump. The fuel pump can have dead spots, so it really depends on where it turns off and it will still operate

It could be the crank position sensor they use a coil to create a magnetic field that the reluctor ring on the crankshaft passes thru to create a signal. A common issue is the copper coil has a break in it and when the engine warms up the coil expands and causes an open circuit, then when it cools reconnects and the vehicle will start again

‘00 2v GT, under hard acceleration the engine dies, doesn’t matter if a 0-XX run or passing 55-70, under full RPM it dies and can be restarted by with popping tranny into neutral, holding clutch in and it’ll restart running perfectly fine unless floored again at high rpm. Occasionally it will ruin the alternator, been through 4/5 alternators in about a year. Local Ford techs and private shop are stumped, any thoughts of this as I don’t see any mentions of checking/replacing the CCRM in my RO’s/Bills…

The engine shuts down, cluster stays on and the cluster lights up with all the warning lights as if your getting ready to start the car. I’ve updated the coils, plugs, added performance parts, had it tuned, tried about as much as I can and thrown way too much $$$ at it for the lackluster performance of a 2V LoL. When it happens I just reset the key and it’ll fire back up while still rolling down the highway at speed. Like I said above, occasionally it will eat an alternator as well when under this hard acceleration. I’ve replaced the main alternator wire as well as the harness wires for the alternator, mostly new wiring this past year on other parts and yet it still shuts down every single time under hard acceleration to the point I just smile and wave when someone tries to “challenge” and I have to pass, very frustrating.

We did relocate some stuff under the hood. The pcm is behind the passenger side finder well and the fuse box is under the dash on the passenger side also.

My ccrm on my car buzzes when the key is turned over. And the car will crank but not start. I’m 99% sure this is the problem. Can I just replace the whole part or will it have to be reprogrammed?

You should be able to just plug in a new one as long as it’s compatible

Sounds like a bad ground to the ccrm which is located near the battery on top of the drivers headlight

could this cause my ac to blow hot air on my 2v? even tho the ac clutch is engaging
@dannyjohnsonsgarage3 жыл бұрын
It’s probably not likely being the engagement is working and controlled by the ccrm. If it’s clicking on and off within seconds it’s probably low on refrigerant
@Trunks48253 жыл бұрын
@@dannyjohnsonsgarage see that’s what I thought but I already refilled it, bought a new pressure switch, new fuses, and checked the connections behind the ac panel it’s self that’s why i’m so confused. So there’s only 2 more things left the ccrm or the ac compressor itself

replacing this on mach. throwing a p0190 code out of the blue. it starts but quickly loses fuel pressure and dies. i changed fuel pump, frps, and fpcm all to no avail. this is the last thing to test. after that then its off to the dealership.

My radiator fan stopped working, i think i may need this relay.
@dannyjohnsonsgarage4 жыл бұрын
I do believe there is a relay where it plugs in at the fan as well. It’s always hanging on cars because it breaks easily. Might want to test that end

Danny I really need your help ive been having a crank no start for a week and as i was checking my DC Voltage today to the fuel tank wire harness behind the rear bumper which had a volt current my fan came on and now has the theft light on and odometer reads (----) fuel pump was not priming before the theft situation so still no fuel in rails 2000 mustang GT do you thinks my pcm is done and i need to replace the ccrm?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage5 жыл бұрын
Greg M It’s possible it could be either- so I would see if you can find someone with a similar car and swap/plug in their ccrm and even computer if they will let you before you commit to purchasing one. I’m also assuming you unplugged the battery for 10 minutes to try to reset the system?

Exact same problem is happening to me currently, at this point I unplugged my fan wiring harness so I don’t have to recharge my battery everyday I want to do testing on it. I’m checking my CCRM today and then my PCM for power. I’ll comment back if I figure out anything, and I’d appreciate it if you find a solution to let me know!

Danny Johnson i first had it towed to my mechanic he tried to connect to the pcm threw the OBD port PCM reads no communication said i had to send it to ford i had it towed to ford they then told me after the 125$ diagnosis that there machines says no communication and in order to diagnose even further i minimal amount of $500 is do to proceed... im going to try my luck and just buy a new CCRM for $130 on LMR because 500 to tell me whats wrong is ubsurd...
@jakobdawson91145 жыл бұрын
Well, between the two of us we’ll have a result . My CCRM tested ok after I found a pin out and tutorial,so I’m now awaiting my new pcm to arrive in the next few days. From what I hear I’ll most likely need to get a locksmith out to reprogram my keys,but other than that we’ll see if it fixes the problem. The only other option would be the CCRM as I’ve tested just about all the wiring in the front end of the vehicle. If anyone was wondering as well the price range was around $150-$250 depending on what each site offered as warranties. Of course if this fails I’ll be going after the CCRM

Could this be the cause of my 02 gt dying sometimes when I push the clutch in it starts right back up afterwards
@dannyjohnsonsgarage4 жыл бұрын
Not likely. It’s more likely a vacuum leak, or bad/dirty Iac sensor. A lot of people have had the issue when going to an aftermarket cold air intake. Either from a joint not sealing or on some mustangs a mesh screen that’s in the stock intake that makes the car stall without it (that may only be on the mach 1). I’ll post a few videos below to consider

@@dannyjohnsonsgarage speaking of that screen. I ended up finding one of those from a stock intake system (my 01's was missing), and fabbed it into an Airraid fenderless cai. Did that to run a cleaner flow over the maf sensor.

I have a 98 with a 3.8 and cranks but no start. Does the ccrm need any programming if switched or can I just swap it with a new one?
@dannyjohnsonsgarage3 жыл бұрын
A new one should swap right in if it’s the right one - I believe there may be differences in automatic vs manual transmission or something so make sure it’s right. Before that, you might want to check a few other things and even try starter fluid (very carefully). Check fuel pressure at the rail- it’s all in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKfKfHqAn6aqi5I
