Thank you! I need a better setup to get more range ;) I'm planning on building a 7 inch quad to push the r9 system to its limits.

Good test. Can't wait to see your long range test, possibly incorporating the GPS Rescue function, on the new X9D Plus/R9M combination. Would be interesting to see if the ACCESS protocol has any practical benefit over the ACCST. Thanks.

At the moment, there seems to be no difference between accst and access in the viewpoint of range and performance
@uavtech5 жыл бұрын
You should set your Debug Mode = RC_Smoothing_Rate on these types of vids and show if the frame rate is consistent at short vs long-range. It would be interesting to see if ACCESS is better than ACCST in this regard because ACCST is not good.

Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it! and thanks for the advice UAV Tech! I was struggling with the Accst Protocol and RC_Smoothing on all of my other quads because of the bad bbl result - but no one was listening. So in the past after a lot of bb logging I have set my rc smoothing input and derivative hz to 25hz and then the bbl was fine. I was so done with bb logging and tuning my quads that I didn't take a look at the bb log with the Access Protocol. I will keep it in mind to do 2 flights, one with my old r9m and accst protocol and another one with the r9m 2019 on access - and rc smoothing settings on default - to compare the logs with the rc smoothing rate debug mode. But all in all, I think the results would be too much scientific for my cannel content and my viewers (except of you) :D

@@uavtech good Idea, so I will do a BBL with rc smoothing settings on default and with the debug mode = rc_smoothing_rate with my r9m mini ota access receiver -Quad and my other quad with the old r9mini with the accst protocol. And then I will send you both files over your email which is linked on your yt channel.
@TorbanDallas5 жыл бұрын
btw: maybe we can talk about the test parameters on another channel like FB, or via email or whatever. Maybe it would also be enough to do both test on the desk with props off. You will definitely see the rc input in the bbl. Looking forward to your reply

@@TorbanDallas , sweet. Do a mid-range and we can see what the frame rate looks like from close to far. Right now with R9 ACCST it is 6.67ms - which is good - but jumps to 14 to 22ms every 200ms exactly (not good). That is at short or long-range. I put on FrSky's radar in the Spring, and we chatted about it, but I have not heard anything in a while. I'm on the latest R9 firmware and OTX 2.3 and the issue persists. Would love to see if still there on ACCESS. Do you know of a way to tell if your R9 module is old or 2019 edition? Mine is in an orange case - purchased in early 2019 from Horus RC - but the back labling doesn't look like yours with voltage labeled, etc...

You need to try 1280mhz video...that 5.8g video on the return leg was being blocked by your lipo...868mhz will work fine alongside 1280mhz video, ask me how I know...,?...lol.

How do you find Flex FW - Auto Mode ? I have flashed "R9M2019_FLEX.frk" from R9M 2019 Access FW v 1.1.1 (2019-09-10) and I have only under 'SET' option: 10mw, 100mw, 500mw and 1.0w !

Thanks! No need to upgrade, you can still use your old R9M with the R9 Receivers with the Accst Firmware.

And these are "supposed" to be long-range? Doesn't Crossfire kill this. Just don't see how less than 4Km can be considered "long-range?" Can you please explain? As I own 2 of these (pre-2019) and they're still in the box, as there were too many unresolved issues at the time... I was going to try these in a mini wing project I'm currently building, but going to the Frsky site there are only one firmware apparently for the R9m and R9mm? And each one of them have different firmware numbers that do not match... Seems as though Frsky may have deleted all the previous firmwares for the older R9 (pre-2019) in an attempt to force us into buying the new "Access" versions? Hmm... I'd really like to try mine, but now don't know where to start? Ideas? Best ✌🏼 Thanks and I do enjoy your vids. ✌🏼

Well, even my thumbnail says mid-range! Take a look at my newer videos, i did a 4km flight and i also did a 2km flight on only 10mw output power, of course, i could even fly farther away, but my batteries are setting the limit and i also don't want to cross roads on the country side, safety first!

Torban Dallas - Okay, I’m seeing Auto Mode now. However, nobody know what that means so thanks for the clarification. I’m currently using a Lite Pro module on my X-Lite Pro and find that fixed 500mW gives better RSSI than the 100mW-1W Adaptive Mode.
@TorbanDallas5 жыл бұрын
@@sketchpv3080 I also like 500mw and in the past it was the most reliable setting because on the older firmwares in some cases, a failsafe occurred when the module was switching between 100mw and 1w.

@TorbanDallas4 жыл бұрын
Hi, schau dir mal mein All you need to know Video aus meiner Frsky Access Playlist an.

I don't own a Jumper T16, but if you can run the latest version of opentx on your radio you probably can also use the r9m 2019 module, the jumper also has a module bay for external long range modules like the r9m.

Das alte R9M Modul mit der FlexFirmware ist doch von der Leistung und Stabilität der Verbindung genauso gut oder???
@TorbanDallas5 жыл бұрын
