Tessie, a little time saver tip - next year ask any friends or neighbors who purchase eggs to give you their egg cartons and plant your tomato seeds in them. When it’s time to repot, you can easily scoop out each plant with a spoon and replant it.

Looks like a great casserole! Probably need all those calories for all the physical labor the Amish do on the farms. How long will it take the tomatoes to go from seedlings to full grown? Seems like it would be winter before those little guys are ready! Don't know Tessie, but when you are trying to lose weight and someone sends you candy, it's hard for me to believe they are a friend. Looks like you have a great start on your garden and yard!

I want to garden so bad, didn't do good at all last year. This year I want to plant lots of flowers, but I don't know which to choose (I bought a few potted plant's, i.e. Hyacinth's, and Hydragia's, )but I hear that the Hycinth bulb can't be planted untill the fall. I don't know if I can plant the Hydagia outside now. Any suggestion's, will be appreciated, thank you. I permantly moved to PA from NY, back in March 2020, when COVID hit. So I know nothing about gardening, I didn't have the time in the rat race sort- of- speak. God bless you, Tina

When I worked in a greenhouse, we filled the trays with dirt, poked a hole with a rounded stick, dropped the seedling gently in the hole, pushing the seedling gently down with stick then use the stick to cover plant. I loved it! We did so many flats of seedlings like tomatoes, peppers, cabbages, watermelon, you name it we did it, even flowers. A nine pack like what you are doing, it would take us 3-4 sec. A flat of 8-nine packs would take us less than 30 sec. We timed ourselves until someone told a joke. It was so much fun!

That dish you made my family has made for years they didn't call the Amish but it is very much a comfort food period that recipe is what they used to make pretty often back when I first became a mom over 40 years ago. They used a lot of bread as a filler in their different casseroles. I agree color always makes everything so pretty and I love the speediness in how fast you did your rototilling LOL Speedy Tessie. It has been really cool here as well today I wore lightweight winter jacket

@@HomesteadTessie Think you will be happy, don't need a lot of stalks to get a lot of celery and dried you can do all kinds of things with - throw it in almost any dish and make cream of celery soup for mixes that you make up. I was shocked at how easy it was to grow it. I do not start it. I use the organic celery from the store and put the bottom in the window with a little water and walla! in a very short time, you can put it outside and cut it for a very long time one stalk at a time for a meal or more to dry. I have been moving mine into the greenhouse (it can take some cold weather) and it keeps going. It is a two year plant in the parsley family.
